Looks like a very good set. I'm kind of disappointed that the Andre match and the Canadian Stampede main event aren't on here, but really, there's no complaints about the rest of the matches.

Only one WCW match? Whassupwidat? Still looks like a great set, though.

I think I've only got the last two matches on other DVD's I've picked up recently, so this looks like a very good set. I'm assuming there will be biography piece on disc 1 and then the matches are considered bonuses?

I'm happy the IYH Bret/Bulldog match made it on there.

And the ONLY Shawn Michaels/Bret match is Hart Foundation/Rockers? Lame. Where is HBK/Bret from Survivor Series 1992? Bret's first world title win over Flair?

Is the Bigelow/Bret match from Barcelona really worth putting on the DVD?

Set looks great, there were just quite a few matches I was hoping would make it on there but didn't (Waltman/Bret from 1994 RAW). Just goes to show that just ONE DVD set for Bret is NOT enough.

I know that for myself it's the only match he had in WCW that stuck out as memorable, although in fairness I only watched WCW programming semi-regularly at that point.

How does the Hart-Benoit Championship Finals match from WCW Mayhem compare to the tribute match?

His truly other notable WCW monent was when he knocked out Goldberg.

The Owen Hart memorial match is superior on every level. It didn't have any Vince Russo screwiness like the Mayhem match either. I was actually hoping for the first Benoit/Hart match from the summer of 1998.

Considering that Bret Hart has said rather publically that his WCW stint was rather forgettable, the lack of WCW matches really isn't surprising, especially with him having a good amount of creative control on the project.

The only other notable match I can think of, at least on PPV, might've been against Ric Flair at SuperBrawl VIII, but that's about it. The only other thing I personally really liked from his WCW days was that subtle comedy promo as TV Champ when he said guys like El Dandy and "Hypnosis" were worthy contenders. And the Goldberg angle in Toronto. That's about it.

No Demolition and no Andre. What? That's disappointing. I, too, wanted the Flair title win and the HBK ladder and Survivor Series match.

It still looks good and I'll still get it, but now my interest has shifted to the commentary/feature part of it.

Mmmmm...now that is a tasty burger!

For those claiming Hart only had one great WCW match/moment (either his Owen tribute or the Goldberg steel plate), you're completely ignoring:

- His 2 classic Nitro matches with Booker T in early 1999. Both were brilliant in execution, with the second one involving Hart being the first main eventer to put over Booker clean as a whistle.

- His match with Roddy Piper from the same time frame, getting a surprisingly wicked match out of a man who was about twice the age of Julio Franco with a hip replacement.

- His match with Ric Flair that marked his WCW debut.

- A fun little hardcore match with Terry Funk, although hard to watch knowing now that Hart was concussed to shit BEFORE the beating he endured.

I personally would have selected the Booker T match, but any of those would have been passable for the DVD.

Isn't this one of a few matches that Coliseum Home Video still has the rights to?

It doesn't, and it's a much better match, but WWE has a thing about including "First WWE match" or "First title win", or whatever. The match on this DVD was the one where Bret won his first WCW Title, which was a significant career moment.

I'm not surprised that they're doing any more WCW matches. He had some good ones there, but ultimately, WWE thinks the REAL career for Bret Hart happened in WWE. They're not exactly wrong there, either.

The one that surprises me is that they're showing Bret/UT from "One Night Only" and not SummerSlam where he won his 5th title with HBK as the ref.

EDIT: They're including both Mr. Perfect PPV matches, so already I'm a happy camper.

These matches

Hart Foundation vs. British Bulldogs (Madison Square Garden, 13/07/85)

Bret Hart vs. Ricky Streamboat (Boston Garden, 08/03/86)

Bret Hart vs. Ted DiBiase (Odessa, TX, 08/03/89)

Hart Foundation vs. Rockers (Saturday Night's Main Event, 28/04/90)

    WWE Intercontinental Match
Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect (SummerSlam, 26/08/91)

King of the Ring Semi-Final Match
Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect (King of the Ring, 13/06/93)

    WWE Championship Match
Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (White Plains, NY, 29/09/94)

    WWE Championship Match
Bret Hart vs. Diesel (Survivor Series, 19/11/95)

    WWE Championship Match
Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog (In Your House, 17/12/95)

make the DVD a definite must-have, especially the Hennig matches. I would have preferred Hart's Survivor Series 1996 match with Austin and the Raw match with Hakushi though, or they could have been included alongside the 'bigger' matches in the same way that they have both Hennig and Bulldog matches. Glad to see the Rockers' match...I've seen it before but it'll be great to have on DVD, especially if they include the pre-match promos from each team (Neidhart: "After your Hart attack, you'll join demolition in the coronary room! Bwa hah hah!"), but I would have liked to have seen a non-Mania 12/Sur Ser '97 Shawn match on there. Its understandable due to their animosity but he could have included the ladder match if only so that he could say "see who really deserves credit for this?". Not to mention that he wins this one. And I'd just like to have Sur Ser '92 because its so hard to find. And hey, he wins this one too.

I was expecting some Stampede matches too, that would have been nice. But hey, there's enough goodness to make it worth a purchase.

Actually the match they included is the Owen Hart Memorial match from the 10/4/99 Nitro, not the world title tourney finals from Mayhem 99. Though since that match was already collected on DVD, I would've preferred a couple of the other Benoit/Bret encounters.

While Bret Hart's WCW stint might've been forgettable, he still had some great matches with the company that could've easily been put on the DVD. Such as his Souled Out 1998 match with Flair, his US and world title matches with Booker T., DDP, and Sting.

The keywords here are "HBK as the ref".

Didn't Bret pick out the matches he wanted on this dvd ? He maybe felt that the less HBK on this dvd the better.

You're probably right, but considering that I think Hart/Michaels is one of the all-time great wrestling rivalries, let alone a huge part of Hart's career, you'd think there'd be at least one one-on-one match with the two of them on this DVD.

I don't blame John after watching this either. Nattie makes a big deal about everything. She would be exhausting to live with. "That waiter is out to get me! He gave me a Coke when I ordered a diet.
