I almost just had an heart attack... First they play Bret Hart's music, then they write "COMING SOON" and we see the Hitman walking through a "light" door....

Just to realise that it was an ad for the WWE Anthology CD.

Again, a few seconds of hope for me.

Wait a minute, I thought all of us internet guys hated Bret because he was a whiner and couldn't let go of the past. Guess I should attend the meetings more often.

Note: This is not flamebait, I just felt like being a jerk.

I hope they treat his legacy with some respect, but I don't trust the WWE to do this. They always drag out the Bret Hart/You Screwed Bret references when they are in Montreal...

I still hate Bret, if it makes you feel any better.

I'm an Internet guy, but I can just speak for myself: I love the great work Bret did in the past, but I hate what he's turned into.

What exactly is the WWE Anthology CD? A greatest hits type thing?

It's a collection of theme music from the last 20 years. I believe it's supposed to have over 100 different songs on it.

I was marking out worse than I did when he appeared at SLAMBOREE here in St Louis the year I went. Then it said it was for the Anthology. My Girlfriend was like "what the hell was all that yelling about?"

Yeah, I noticed all the references myself. I yelled Fuck You, JR after he mentioned how he didn't want to hear anyone chant You Screwed Bret. He did, and WWE has often been on their high horse about free speech in the past but apparently not when it pisses JR off (see his weekly bitching about the 'Net on the Ross Report for more details). I was really digging the Randy Orton promo until he (in my eyes) dissed Bret. I sat bolt upright when I heard Bret's music and saw his image, only to be sadly disappointed when I realized it was just and ad for The Anthology. I was heartned to hear Hebner get the YSB! chants in the main event. Of course, I take things too seriously sometimes, I guess. I like to get into the shows rather than sit and watch it in a detached manner. To each their own, eh?

I don't see how JR saying he didn't want to hear fans whining about a 5 year old match can be considered an affront on free speech. Personally, I can't wait until Bret joins the rest of his family so we can put one more pointless subject to rest.

Jesus Christ. Just shut the fuck up!

Tonight stopped being about who is right and who is wrong - it became about two men wanting to prove who the better man is - for YOUR entertainment. And that, my friends, is the credo of SmackDown!"

It'll come in three parts. The Federation years, Attitude(That implies that the attitude era is over), and Today and/or Now ranging from Hulk Hogan's "Real American" to Shane McMahon's "Here comes the money". I hope they add more songs to the Today and/or Now catagory...

Ah.

Hogan's a good guy.

Now THAT is flamebait. Top notch "Across the Boards" material that makes all internet fans look like tools too.

I hope no one actually thinks that by saying bitching about fans chanting "You screwed Bret", that JR actually is against rehashing the Montreal screw-job. JR is vice-president of a company that parodies that main event at least twice a year. Bull that they want people to forget about it. They love bringing it up.

Don't know how smart it is to tease fans with a coming soon and having Bret music played and then say "Oh just the album". Why dissapoint people even more... Also Orton saying Bret ain't coming back after Bret's brains look like scrambled eggs seem a little on the bad taste of sides.

Ha to atleast this ref won't be yelled at for screwing Bret ever 5 seconds. Lawler comes in saying something like "Oh she didn't.", I thought to myself nope that was sunny (oh sorry about that)

I hope the anthology includes Bret Hart's classic Leonard Cohen-esque "Never Been A Right Time To Say Goodbye." That song was fantastic.

Unfortunately, far too many internet "fans" do a pretty good job of making themselves look like tools, but that's just my screwed-up opinion.

I missed the first ten minutes! Apparently there was a Homicide vs. Brother Ray match which ended in DQ when Devon ran in with a Singapore cane, and then 3D + Booker T bloodied up LAX and left them laying.
