If you listened to Bret on WOL tonight, you know that he talked to Vince about putting out a DVD with Bret's great matches on it. So which ones would you include in a dream DVD? I'd have:
Bret vs. Ric Flair (Iron Man Match) Bret vs. Mr. Perfect (Summerslam 91) Bret vs. British Bulldog (Summerslam 92) Bret vs. Piper (WM 8) Bret vs. Shawn (Survivor Series 92) Bret vs. Mr. Perfect (KOTR 93) Bret Hart vs. Jerry Lalwer (Summerslam 93) Bret vs. Shawn Michaels (Colliseum Video XXII) Bret vs. Ric Flair (Colliseum Video XXII) Bret vs. Owen (WM X) Bret vs. Owen (Summerslam 94) Bret vs. Shawn (WM XII) Bret vs. Austin (Survivor Series 96) Bret vs. Austin vs. UT vs. Vader (Final 4) Bret vs. Austin (WM XIII) Bret vs. Benoit (Owen Tribute) Entire owen tribute Section
That's a good lineup/wishlist you got there. However, wasn't the Bret Hart/Flair Iron man match at a house show and not filmed for video or tv at all? I also thought the only tapes of it are from a fan cam.
A some others I'd like to see:
Owen and Bret vs. the Steiners Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog from IYH in 1995 Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart in an Iron man match (did this happen? I guess if it did it's only on fan cam as well) The Hart Foundation vs. Tully and Arn at Summerslam 1989 The Hart Foundation vs. Demolition Best 2 out of 3 Falls at Summerslam 1990 Bret Hart vs. Flair at Souled Out 98 Bret Hart vs. Benoit from Nitro in 1998 Bret Hart vs. Benoit at Mayhem 1999 (not nearly as good as some of their prior matches, but should be there b/c its bret's only WCW world title win.)
Bret's had enough great matches for like a huge gross of DVD's and videos to release.

HEY EVERYONE HERE'S MY BIG LIST YOU MAKE A BIG LIST TOO AND THEN WE'LL HAVE A GIANT THREAD MADE UP OF BIG LISTS!!!!!!!!!!! OH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still, Hart's probably list-worthy, so...
Quickly going through my reports, I spy:
Bret Hart v. Fatu (RAW 1.3.93) - one of my early most favourite matches and a real eye-opener about Hart's ability to tell a story and make the audience suspend disbelief (as in disbelieving the obvious fact that Fatu has no chance in hell of winning the WWF championship in this match) Bret Hart v. Bam Bam Bigelow (RAW 26.7.93) Bret Hart v. 1-2-3 Kid (RAW 11.7.94) Bret Hart v. Bob Backlund (Superstars ??.7.94)
Someone else will have to cover the period I didn't recap, since nothing immediately leaps into my mind, tho' I'm sure there's good stuff (Canadian Stampede 10-man, sure, but that's not really "Bret Hart" material) ...aside from the dynamic Bret Hart v. Patriot clashes ;-)
Bret Hart v. Chris Benoit I (Nitro 22.6.98) Bret Hart v. Booker T (Nitro 24.8.98 - doesn't actually happen, but Hart convinces Stevie Ray to turn NWO)
Bret Hart v. Chris Benoit II (Nitro 16.11.98) Bret Hart v. Dean Malenko (Nitro 23.11.98) Hart/Page interview (Nitro 30.11.98) Bret Hart v. Diamond Dallas Page (Nitro 30.11.98)
the above four work as a package
Bret Hart v. Booker T (Nitro 25.1.99) Bret Hart v. Will Sasso (Nitro 15.2.99 - unbelievably much better than it sounds) Bret Hart v. Booker T (Nitro 22.2.99) Bret Hart v. Chris Benoit III (Nitro 1.3.99) Bret Hart v. Van Hammer (Nitro 8.3.99 - c'mon, who WOULDN'T want a ten minute Hart/Hammer match?) Bret Hart v. Goldberg (Nitro 25.10.99) Bret Hart v. Goldberg (Nitro 20.12.99 - not too great but noteworthy) Bret Hart v. Chris Benoit VI (Thunder 23.12.99 - post-match, Goldberg jobs to window)
I tried not to mention matches already mentioned in this thread. Also, my biases clearly show as I pick every Hart/Booker match but no Hart/Sting matches.
I saw a GREAT Hart/Hogan match at the Cow Palace back in '99 but as far as I know, nobody taped it. Ah, what could have been...
Why have only one of you mentioned the SS92 vs. Bulldog? IYH 95 didn't live up that match, IMO. 82 thousand in London plus a great "torn family storyline", the match was a classic.
Also it might be good to add Survivor Series vs. Shawn -- no not 1997, 1992. It was the first PPV main event for BOTH of them, if you can believe that...and it was a damn great match. Overshadowed by their match 5 years later, but still...I look at that as the genesis of both of their rises to legendary status.

Assuming I didn't screw up: Quezzy, lotjx, kentish, & Torchslasher tie for first with 6 correct. Peter the H. - 5 correct Karlos - 4 correct Oliver & InVerse - 3 correct I only counted "X beats Y" and ignored the whys and hows. --K
