Saints QB Drew Brees has been chosen to cover Madden 2011 football game and is ready to take on the jinx.

I don't understand Brees's logic of "this team is destined for great things." Whether or not you believe in curses (or this curse in particular), if there was any time a guy would be ripe for the picking, it would be Drew Brees, right now. He's already reached the top of the mountain, nowhere left to go but down.

Didn't they say this about Favre like 10 years ago? Well at least Brees can say he got to the top.

I'm surprized EA's still going with the Madden name. Didn't he retire last year?

Then again, it is a successful brand - who else would they put on it?

I can't ever see them changing it. Maybe a long, long time down the line, perhaps when the next generation of consoles comes out. I mean, isn't Madden the most successful video game series in history? Why change it now? And like you said, who else could they put on it? I can't think of anyone even remotely close in stature.

He hasn't lent his voice for play-by-play commentary for a few years now and they didn't change the name then.

Like you said, the Madden name is very successful brand and there is no reason to change it in the near future.
