Still a household name amongst a lot of baseball fans in the Badger State...now that was a pitcher.

Weird fact...when Spahnie won his 300th game at age 40 back in 1961, the Braves catcher behind the plate...a rookie by the name of Joe Torre.

But Johnny Sain was Bouten's pitching coach when he was traded to Houston in "Ball Four" and I was introduced to "Spahn, thenSain, then Dear Lord, please Rain!" and remember reading about Spahn at that time. I wonder why there's nothing on their web page about it.
