| #1 Posted on 31.3.02 0122.50 | Instant Rating: 0.00 | How is everyone doing on their brackets?... I have a lot of different brackets but my mistake was making it where duke was going to win it all on all of them. Even so my Brackets are still shaping up ok. I might even catch 3rd place at work.
So its indiana vs maryland in the finals. I had Duke and Maryland. Maryland seems powerful rt now. But Indiana is on one hell of a roll.

| #2 Posted on 31.3.02 0234.29 | Completely destroyed. I think I over-analyzed this year...Gonzaga and USC screwed me early.
I had Kansas and Maryland in the Final Four and Maryland winning it all, so I'm still OK there.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

| #4 Posted on 31.3.02 1045.43 | I had Maryland over Oklahoma, with Duke out in the second round at the hands of Notre Dame. Hey, it only took one more game than I thought to get the EVIL DEVILS out, so I'm happy.
Best I can do in my office pool is fourth, which isn't bad since that means I get 5% :)

Overall, I did okay, but not great.
My consolation is that while my brackets might suck, my alma mater is playing for the title.

| #6 Posted on 31.3.02 1707.17 | My brackets were terrible...I banked on programs like Michigan State and Florida to make runs, which never happened. I, too, have Maryland winning the national championship, but against Duke.
Indiana reminds me of the Patriots too much to count them out...but the way Maryland handled both UConn and Kansas makes me believe they are just flat out the better team.
"But that's why they play the games." I think the game is gonna be a classic.

| #7 Posted on 31.3.02 1714.40 | Instant Rating: 8.18 | I freely admit that I think IU won't win tomorrow. And not to jinx them, I won't watch the game, just like I didn't watch the Final Four game (Fox Movie Channel was showing Bedazzled, presumably as a tribute to Dudley Moore).
BTW, if Maryland fans rioted last night just for winning the final four game, what will do when they win?

Thank you, thank you. I learned a hard lession a couple of years ago and that was not to overanalyze anything.
Anyway, even though I picked Maryland, my heart will be cheering for Indiana. It would be nice to see Bobby Knight get his for once. What an arrogant loser.

I love the Terps basketball team...but I've always contended that UMD is an s-hole and College Park is one of Satan's earthly hang-outs. So it doesn't surprise me that Terps fans would riot for winning the semi-final. Idiots.

I think that whatever happens, Knight comes out looking pretty good. He recruited pretty much all those guys. I don't think it would make Knight look bad if IU won, I just think that Mike Davis will look really good.
Anyone else hear about the so-called backlash for Knight not contacting the IU players to wish them good luck or to congratulate them on their tourney run? Does anyone else find this to be completely asinine? Bobby Knight isn't their coach anymore, and besides...they haven't won or lost yet! Isn't it equally as plausible that Knight is waiting until their tournament run is actually over before congratulating them? If I were a former coach, with my own team and book and stuff to be concerned with...I'd wait too.

| #10 Posted on 31.3.02 2352.55 | I had Oklahoma over Kansas in the final, but overall my brackets have been pretty good. I had 7 out of the Elite Eight right for the first time ever, missing out on Duke, which kind of screws everything if IU wins Monday night.
My dad has been a Maryland fan for 50 years, and has been waiting for this day his whole life. He grew up in Ohio, and we thought a few times that maybe the Indians or Browns would get him a Championship, having not won since he was a tadpole and can barely remember. It really stung when the Ravens won a few years ago. This is going to finally be the big one. He can rest in peace after tonight.

| #11 Posted on 1.4.02 1402.34 | I would've wound up in 2nd place in one pool had Kansas won on Saturday night, but since they're out, I end up in 5th. I'm just glad I didn't take Cinci all the way like I had thought about early on.
Davis has been on the IU staff since '97 or '98 - he helped recruit a lot of those kids, too. Even if Knight did the majority of the recruiting, he didn't *coach* them to this game. AND Davis only loses two seniors, Odle and Fife, and Jeffries, if he decides to go pro.

| #12 Posted on 1.4.02 1600.58 | I, like a lot of people, threw away my brackets after Duke lost. I've got to go with Maryland tonight. They just seem to be the better team to me. I don't think Bobby Knight should be getting this "backlash"..at least not yet.
