I see all over TSN tonight that Ruiz and Rahman are fighting for the "interim" WBA heavyweight championship Saturday night. Interim championship? Has Roy Jones been stripped of the title? If so, why is this not for the straight-up WBA heavyweight title? If not, what in the world is an interim championship?

The Toronto Maple Leafs are built for the playoffs. Of course they are. What Leafs fans don't realize, though, is "built for the playoffs" is just GM-speak for "short on skill, kinda slow, and can't score over an 80 game season".

If you believe the bloke at Doghouse Boxing, and why wouldn't you, "What does that really mean? It means that if current WBA Heavyweight Champion Roy Jones, JR. decides to vacate his title or not face the winner of the interim match, they become the new WBA Heavyweight Champion."

I'm sure I read that Jones has said he's dumping the title, but there hasn't been an official announcement and a title fight, interim or no, gets more PPV dollars. See Mundine, Anthony.

This is typical of the WBA. They are the same organization that create the "super champion" for guys who won more than one belt. Why? So they can then have a "champion" and get more sanctioning fees.

On a side note, did anyone else see Vitali Klitschko's destruction of Kirk Johnson Saturday? It was pretty damn impressive, even if Johnson was a fat tub of goo. I wonder how Lennox feels about a rematch now. (And Vitali's post-fight comments were GREAT. "Lennox. Hi. I know you watch this fight."

I'm sorry, but Ricardo Mayorga should talk English more than Vitali Klitcko. Other than "Lennox. Hi. I know you watch this fight" I could not understand word one out of his mouth. He did look impressive though. I actually thought Johnson had a good shot to win. When is Wladimir going to fight again? Maybe a Sanders rematch? Maybe the winner of Ruiz-Rahman?

I wonder how much money George W. Bush gave Paris Hilton.

Two of the all-time worst ever to hold a piece of the big three belts to square off. I hope Rahman whips Ruiz, so we can hear some more of Ruiz' patented whining. But, at least it isn't Holyfield. Cee-ripes.

Roy Jones should keep the belt just on the principle that neither of those washed-up hacks can claim to be any kind of heavyweight champ. Why isn't one of the Klitschkos getting a shot at the "interim" title?

Managers in bed with organisations and paying the right money to the right people has a very large part to play in who gets rated where, by which organisation. Allegedly. And as JJ said, sanctioning fees. What a rort. Allegedly.

Further reference is made to his following fight being hopefully against Lamon Brewster for the WBO Heavyweight title. (YAWN.)

If they ultimately want a fight with Lennox, it's better for them to stay away from fighting for a belt, because if Vitali were to win the WBA title, he would be dropped from the WBC's list of contenders. If he doesn't win a belt the WBC (if they haven't already) will make Vitali the #1 contender and a mandatory defense for Lewis, the WBC champion.

Right here! His synopsis of Jessica Simpson was one of my favorites, and I am sooooooooooooo glad I didn't watch one second of Trista & Ryan's wedding.
