I think practically all of us have read this question wrong - I think he's referring to "tight" holes as "close" as opposed to "tight." Not that it matters, I suppose. ;-)

No, everyone has answered the way I meant, the size of the holes, not the spacing. I have a buddy who's ball pops off his had and then his fingers swell up after 2 or 3 games. Also I like glow bowl if the marks are blacklight responsive, but most older lanes around my parts don't so I don't do too well without being able to see the marks.

individual, although I was in a league for a little while in college.

Highest was 170-something. Average is probably around a 130.
On a sidenote, I went bowling on New Year's Eve. I got so happy when I got a turkey, that I dropped down, stared at my hand and did a spinarooni. Some stared, some laughed, but all saw the mighty power of the Bookerman.
You know, I have been using either the "Mark Jackson shimmy" or the "Michael Jackson Leg-Kick thingy" to punctuate a good frame. But now I might have to bust out the spinaroonie for the Turkey. I've only made, like, 2 in my life though, so it might be a while.

It's not their #1 choice, but it's not disliked.

Straight aim. I grew up on candlepin bowling, so it wasn't until the past few years that I could actually bowl 10 pin well. But I still have a candlepin motion.

Wide finger. Again, since I started on candlepin, it's all about having your fingers loose for a good grip.
