The team still doesn't know the season still goes on after the All-Star break. With the NY Skanks running away in the weak ass AL East and Oakland A's doing their usual late season comeback, BoChokers aren't going to the playoffs again. The bullpen blow plenty of games but its nothing new since they been blowing leads early this season. They should be renamed Chokers since that what they are good at.

Don't forget to add with the A's: Their usual late season comeback before they forget to actually win a series in October.
As for the Red Sox, anyone who has followed the team long enough knew the season was on the brink when the players started bitching about the media and/or negative fans. That's the tell-tale sign that the collapse is imminent.

Ok, so Ted Williams is decapitated now? What will his son do next, sell him to the Japanese dog food company that bought former Kentucky Derby winner Ferdinand?

I think when Shaughnessy starts referring to Pedro as Diana Ross, that could be a sign too.

Eh, the hot hitting streak seems to be over, everyone's arms are getting tired, and the bullpen went back to stumbling. But of course, having guys caught by the backup/knuckleball catcher and him making an error doesn't help either.

Still, the eastern version of the greatest team ever except we have to replace half of them yearly didn't look so dominating against the Royals...

If you are referring to the Yankees, you are wrong. They just SWEPT Kansas City averaging over 8 runs a game. The Royals looked about as threatening as 9 year olds with water pistols.

As for replacing half of them...that's an exageration. All the top teams made changes except the Angels and we see how far that got them. And I know Johnson and Schilling weren't spending their whole careers in Arizona either.

On topic, the Red Sox are just facing the timing of a tough week in scheduling. They will still finish strong.

I was refering to the previous week in KC, and you'd think they could do better than 11-6, 6-3, and 8-7 against a AL central team in the house ruth built, what, did George Brett sneak into the clubhouse or something?

I completely understand the "we need to reload" aspect, but uh, let's see, who acquired from last year is still there...uh, Giambi and Sierra last I checked.

Randy and Curt are still here, you probably didn't recognize them by their respective stats though. All the '98 team and most of '99 are gone though.

Schill can leave, but I really doubt that...Philly and Toronto seem to have his interest, but the guy grew up here and he knows he has just as good a chance with a 100% Randy and the other guys than anywhere else.

Well, with Luis Sojo back in uniform for the Yankees, I think they've wrapped up the AL East.

Too bad he's not eligible for the post-season, then he'd put his career .400 WS average to good use.

Boston fans suck. They turn around and give CLEMENS a standing ovation?? What a bunch of sellouts.

"When this bogus term alternative rock was being thrown at every '70s retro rehash folk group, we were challenging people to new sonic ideas. If some little snotty anarchist with an Apple Mac and an attitude thinks he invented dance music and the big rock group is coming into his territory, [that's] ridiculous." - Bono, 1997

Tell me you're being sarcastic. Maybe they decided to ignore the past few years and remember the 13 years he was with Boston?

The Curse was invented by Dan Shaughnessy to make alot of money. Most Boston fans know there is no such things as a curse. Really this is just here to help lazy sports writers to fill up a collum instead of doing real research.
