So the "packages" were in place for two weeks, with no-one doing anything about them, and they were in other cities, with no other police forces freaking out about it, and the damn things look like silly flashing lights, not bombs....and yet the Boston authorities are treating these guys as if they shouted "Al Qaeda!" at an airport. This is insane.
EDIT: Just noticed the thread in Movies And TV. Apologies. I honestly thought that this would be found under Current Events, and so didn't check elsewhere.
(edited by oldschoolhero on 1.2.07 1406) To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Yes, but your next sentence was... Now... I AGREE thatan invasion of Iraq at present is not a good idea. But I would never equate a telegraphed invasion with terrorism. Which is exactly what you did, no matter what your first sentence said.
