I had just enough time to watch this before bed and it might be my favorite of the season so far. Kevin Kline's Mr. Fischoeder continues to be amusing and the kids continue to be great. Bob's family playing along with the charade (until Bob's drunken collapse) was gold.
Not much else to say, since I'm tired from a long night, but it's a thumbs up for me!
Bob: Thanksgiving is this family's favorite holiday. Linda: Ehhhh... Bob: Wait, it's not? Louise: No way! Check the rankings. It goes MY birthday, Christmas, Halloween... Tina: Easter... Gene: Hanukkah... Louise: Snow Day, Amateur Night... Bob: Uhhh...ok, that's... Tina: Veteran's Day... Louise: Tooth Fairy Eve... Bob: Not real. Gene: St. Patrick's Day, May Day, Groundhog Day, season premiere of Game of Thrones... Bob: You've never even seen that... Louise: Opposite Day, Day of the Dead... Bob: Stop. Gene: DAWN of the Dead, Carnivale... Louise: Angela Lansbury's birthday... Bob: No. Gene: Bath Night! Louise: Black Friday, THEN Thanksgiving! Linda: Love Black Friday. Bob: Black Friday before Thanksgiving? Louise: Yeah! 'Cause it's dark!
Goon, I diagree with you toally, specially about the use of eastern/zen philosophy. First off, the film didn't go taht deep and seconldy my daughter who just turned 2 1/2 has a better grasp of zen/buddhism than anyone I've ever met.
