One way in which this show's starting to win me over is in the way Bob interacts with his kids. The opening where the kids keep trying to steal Bob's thunder was really funny and I love the way they continually try and goad him. Bob and the kids have become the best part of this show to me.
This episode also didn't suck. I'm starting to think this show has a lot of promise.
Bob: That's...um...not an udder. Randy: Oh ho, it's not? Louise: Don't listen to him, Randy. You go ahead and milk that cow. Milk it good! Randy: Oh, we did! Bob: You shouldn't have. Milk doesn't come out of that. Randy: SOMETHING came out of it. In that bucket over there. Gene: You mean this bucket of urine? I know urine and that's urine! Bob: Gene, put that down! Gene: No! Randy: Well, it certainly smells like urine, but that's probably because she's...sick... Bob: No, she's not... Randy: SICK OF YOUR PRACTICES, BOB!
Funniest thing I've seen all weekend.

"You wear a disguise to look like human guys, but you're not a man, you're a chicken, Boo!"
I like the zoom-in gags they've been doing. First episode had 4 consecutive quick zoom-in-zoom-outs when the wife mentioned she was previously engaged to the health inspector, and this episode had 2 quick zoom-in-zoom-outs when they went outside & saw the empty leash. The episode also had 2 zoom-ins with dramatic music. I don't know what it is w/ those gags, but they made me laugh every time.
Originally posted by ZeruelI thought the 1st episode was great. The 2nd was ok, but this one is better than the 1st.
Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal) have been so awesome every episode and instantly became my favorite characters.
I find it odd/hysterical that the wife and older daughter (Tina) are voiced by men.
I am the anti-Zeruel. Didn't much like the first, thought the 2nd was kinda good, & thought this one was barely OK. And it makes me crazy that 2 of the 3 female characters are voiced by men. (What is the point of that?)
Louise is the only one that I really like. I'm interested to see if she's sustainably funny -- if so, there's a sociopath on the writing team. :-)

I hated the first, liked the second and loved the third. And I have no problem with the voices as relatng to men doing female voices.
I thought I would hate this show, but I am now looking forward to seeing it each week.

If she's sustainably funny, then what does that say about you? :-) And me too, cause she's awesome.
I have one issue with the show - and I don't know how much of an issue it is. Jon Benjamin's voice does not go with Bob's face. It creates a disconnect for me. And it's not that I picture Archer or McGurik when I hear him. It's just that I don't think Bob was drawn to match the voice. I think the moustache's the problem.
It kinda wrapped up nicely ... still this season left a lot to be desired. Maybe they'll pull the ol' Dylan's dad from 90210 really didn't blow up bit and bring Jonas Hodges back. Jon Voight rules.
