I recently joined Blockbuster Online, and up until today I thought it was fabulous.
But today was the day I was supposed to finally get my Wrestlemania XXI Disc 1 in (I've had Disc 2 sitting around here for about a week). I opened it up, popped it in the DVD player and sat back. Skipped the first previews section and then.. uh.. wtf?!?
Yes, instead of sending me Wrestlemania XXI Disc 1, they sent me "Holiday in the Sun," staring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I have to admit that if this happened to anyone else I'd think it was hilarious, but I can't say that I'm laughing right now. Has this happened to anyone else?
They got me once by sending the movie Face/Off in place of whatever it was I originally rented. Of course, I like Face/Off but they still have sent the wrong movie before. It's bound to happen every now and then with all those discs going out and coming in constantly.
Well, if you'd rented it from a Blockbuster store, you'd at least have the benefit of our outstanding (for the most part) customer service and expertise. With online programs, though, it's catch-as-catch-can, y'know?

Hey, like I said, if it was anyone else, I'd be right there laughing with you. Just imagine the look on my face as some poppy theme song fires up and MK & A O are smiling at me from the title screen. I just stared at if for a few seconds, trying to figure out what the hell just happened.
For the record, I went to the Blockbuster Online FAQ section, and I found out that this is a frequent enough occurrence that they have a little form you can fill out if you get the wrong DVD where they'll resend the DVD or just send you the next one on your list. I've lost my interest in WMXXI now, so it's on to Superman I!
Confirmed by producer Bryan Singer. (badassdigest.com) I think Days of Future Past is the second best X-Men title from the 80s after X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills. I also think this is exciting but kind of weird news.
