Fo you "Lethal Weapon" fans, my pal said he got on an airplane coming here to Louisville with a great big guy with huge guns on him. Coming from LA. I showed him a few pics and he picked out Steve Blackman. So maybe Blackman's coming to work a few kinks out in OVW. Wish I could go to their taping this Weds, but alas, I can't. There was a great match on Saturday night between Kurt Angle (with his brother in his corner keeping the Corporation away with a Louisville Slugger) against Damaga. Good match, which Kurt won with a couple of Germans into the ankle lock.
Too bad for Damaga - he's got the look, -but has never made it past OVW. 4 Years in the OVW, he probably isn't. Prototype was only there for about a year before he became John Cena.
Another wrestling tid-bit. The same pal sees Nidia on Elimidate. She was working here at the time, because she said she was working in Louisville. She kept getting calls from her boyfriend during the date, a guy named "Eric". Who is that?
Much better and less disturbing than the Albert sighting.
From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:
DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?
SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.
I seem to recall reading an OVW report somewhere that said that Damaja had won the right to be in the Royal Rumble in a match. So maybe he's finally being kicked upstairs. We'll see in January... he certainly can't be any more of a disappointment than the Island Boyz.

I've been curious about Damaja for a while, but I heard his finisher (cleverly called the Brain Damaj) is a Sky-Hi powerbomb.
Just another example of WCW having no idea what it's core fan base was. How a promotion based out of the deep south expected to get the gangsta rappers over as faces feuding with the country music loving rednecks is beyond me.
