Has anyone else heard this?

Angle said something to the effect that if his surgery works out as well as expected, you might see a guy like Blackman back. It was the first I had ever heard that Blackman left because of injury issues, but from the sound of what Angle said, I take it that Blackman's neck was starting to degenerate, and he didn't want to let it get to the point where he needed spinal fusion. If so, Jho's surgery could change all that, but only if Blackman wants to come back. Still, even if he isn't interested right now, money talks, man.
He's one guy who left years ago I wouldn't mind seeing back. I liked the way he never looked the least bit winded, which is mighty impressive, if you ever read an interview with someone who just gets back from an injury, they always say that nothing much in the world compares to wrestling when it comes to cardio.
I think he'd put on a pretty cool match with RVD or HBK on the Raw side, or Benoit or Angle on SD! I think that Angle's the only one of those four he's ever matched up with, and that was when Angle was still pretty green.

HE WAS NEVER OVER! Seriously, he was charisma-less, did not wrestle well and almost never could be carried to a decent match. The only time I was ever entertained by him was when Al Snow was making fun of him. And in that I was only entertained because Snow was speaking the truth.
The only guy who has been less over during his WWE tenure than Blackman was Bob Holly, and even Bob was over for a few months as the super heavyweight.
In closing, just because a certain dictator likes Blackman doesn't mean you have to agree with him ;-)

What money? I don't think you'll be seeing anyone get into wrestling to get rich anytime soon. Rey Mysterio's downside isn't even six figures, 75 000 I believe, and Blackman's would probably be even lower. Let's face it, all jokes aside this guy never drew a fly to shit and never had anything better than a so-so match. He won't be getting a sweetheart deal like Billy Goldberg. There's no sense in being a pro wrestler for 50 grand a year, and then having to pay taxes on that, and then paying for your own food and lodgings. There are a lot less physically demanding things you could do for that money, and get some benefits out of too.
You'd have to be pretty damn in love with the business to be willing to do that.

How exactly did Vince "ruin" Blackman? Blackman never had much to begin with that could be ruined. He didn't have any charisma, all he had was a ripped body and a background in martial arts that supported his image of being a serious fighter. He was best used when they put the Hardcore strap on him because he was more or less in his element: no talking, limited ring time, beat guys shitless with a trashcan lid. Aside from that, there wasn't much else they could use him for. | fuelinjected
