I recently read something saying that Steve Blackman has opened up a self defense school. It said he had no interest in wrestling and doesn't do interviews on it.

Has anyone else heard this?

The only thing I've read recently about Blackman was a mention in Angle's interview about his surgery on WWE.com. Angle said something to the effect that if his surgery works out as well as expected, you might see a guy like Blackman back. It was the first I had ever heard that Blackman left because of injury issues, but from the sound of what Angle said, I take it that Blackman's neck was starting to degenerate, and he didn't want to let it get to the point where he needed spinal fusion. If so, Jho's surgery could change all that, but only if Blackman wants to come back. Still, even if he isn't interested right now, money talks, man.

He's one guy who left years ago I wouldn't mind seeing back. I liked the way he never looked the least bit winded, which is mighty impressive, if you ever read an interview with someone who just gets back from an injury, they always say that nothing much in the world compares to wrestling when it comes to cardio.

I think he'd put on a pretty cool match with RVD or HBK on the Raw side, or Benoit or Angle on SD! I think that Angle's the only one of those four he's ever matched up with, and that was when Angle was still pretty green.

"We get asked all the time whatever happened to Steve Blackman after his neck injury and headaches forced him out of WWE. Well, he has started "Blackman's Self-Defense and Street Fighting School" in Harrisburg, PA. Classes start on 7/14."

Ah, so NOW we know where CRZ really is on vacation.

Okay, when you all talk about Steve Blackman, you seem to forget one simple thing:

HE WAS NEVER OVER! Seriously, he was charisma-less, did not wrestle well and almost never could be carried to a decent match. The only time I was ever entertained by him was when Al Snow was making fun of him. And in that I was only entertained because Snow was speaking the truth.

The only guy who has been less over during his WWE tenure than Blackman was Bob Holly, and even Bob was over for a few months as the super heavyweight.

In closing, just because a certain dictator likes Blackman doesn't mean you have to agree with him ;-)

Molly over Trish on Heat? WWE, you're the best. And don't let anybody tell you any different.

Blackman as Hardcore champ was at least as over as Bob Holly was as a super heavy weight.

What money? I don't think you'll be seeing anyone get into wrestling to get rich anytime soon. Rey Mysterio's downside isn't even six figures, 75 000 I believe, and Blackman's would probably be even lower. Let's face it, all jokes aside this guy never drew a fly to shit and never had anything better than a so-so match. He won't be getting a sweetheart deal like Billy Goldberg. There's no sense in being a pro wrestler for 50 grand a year, and then having to pay taxes on that, and then paying for your own food and lodgings. There are a lot less physically demanding things you could do for that money, and get some benefits out of too.

You'd have to be pretty damn in love with the business to be willing to do that.

How exactly did Vince "ruin" Blackman? Blackman never had much to begin with that could be ruined. He didn't have any charisma, all he had was a ripped body and a background in martial arts that supported his image of being a serious fighter. He was best used when they put the Hardcore strap on him because he was more or less in his element: no talking, limited ring time, beat guys shitless with a trashcan lid. Aside from that, there wasn't much else they could use him for.

Steve Blackman can only come back if they bring back Head Cheese with Al Snow.

Lance Storm could always put together Team Charisma with Steve Blackman, Dan Severn, and Dean Malenko.

In wrestling ability, Steve Blackman was WWF's answer to Ernest 'The Cat' Miller minus the over abundance of personality and charisma.

As over/non-over Blackman ever was, nothing will ever top his match with Shane McMahon at Summerslam 2000. Watching that match in a packed bar, the crowd chanting along every time Blackman cracked Shane over the head with a kendo stick....just a great experience.

I always thought that Blackman was very over when he was Hardcore champ. I loved the match between he and Shane when Shane did the dive off the rigging at Summerslam. That was a fun, fun match.

If Blackman could return today, they could pair him up with Lance Storm.

Their finishing moves could be something like: The "BORED OUT OF YOUR MIND" or they could do a con-chair-toe type move and call it the "CHAIRMAN OF THE BORED".

Blackman's reign as Hardcore Champ was enjoyable. I also liked Head Cheese, and his feud with Shane.

I think that "It's Party Time!" is one of my favorite catchphrases of alltime.

Keep in mind that Lance Storm's first WWF/E appearance was in Calgary... Alberta, CANADA! He helped Steve Blackman defeat Saturn. This potential partnership has a logical backstory.

Blakman was over as hardcore champ. That thing he did with those sticks, hitting the opponent from head to toe was pretty cool and got a good reaction. He was over during his fued with Shamrock too. I have the RAW and PPV tapes to prove it.

Part of Blackman's problem was that he couldn't take painkillers, for the most part.

Maybe the team name could be "Boring Squared" or "Bē"?

Oh wait, the WWE already used that name. Never mind.
