I'm sick of it. To me, WWF has become so unwatchable, a while ago I started to ask myself why I still watch it. Well, now I'm finally doing something about it. As a wrestling fan, I owe it to myself not to watch something I don't enjoy or think is a waste of time. And I suggest any wrestling fans who haven't liked RAW, Smackdown, or WWF ppvs in a while, the only thing you can possibly do about it to cause change is by turning it off.

When was the last time the WWF put on a consistent amount of good to great shows? When was the last time WWF put on a top to bottom great ppv? I can't really remember. Some people thought this split would cause change for the better. But I think the product has only gotten worse. I remember when WCW was still around, WWF lauded how they elevated the hot, new, young, fresh talent and not the old broken down guys like WCW. I also remember when it was cool to bash Hogan when he was in WCW, and also bash everything he did in the WWF. Now its not so cool anymore because Hogan is mega over and WWF is running with it. I remember Jericho and RVD being mega over early on in their WWF runs, and WWF didn't really seem to run with that. And don't even start that paying your dues shit, or even the glass ceiling shit. I guess this proves the internet bias toward WWF, and that if Vince still had the old established stars he would use them as much as he could. One of the few reasons I liked the WWF a little over the past couple of years is because it was a Hogan free show, and at least Hogan wouldn't be the cause of stinking things up.

WWF has pretty much killed tag team wrestling. They split up the few established teams they had, and the champs really suck. Why are there even tag teams on RAW when they don't even have titles?

I'm sick of the crash tv, I'm sick of Hogan, I'm sick of WWF's mock CW division, I'm sick of Lawler, I'm sick of Cole, I'm sick of paying money for bad ppvs, I'm sick of all the McMahons, and most of all I'm sick of waiting through a bunch of crappy shows to hope for one really good one.

Yeah I might be bitching and moaning, and this might piss some of you fans off. But at least I'm doing something about it. I'm not going to watch WWF anymore. When I watch wrestling, it will probably be my out of my tape collection. Its funny really. ECW and WCW dying is not the biggest news to happen in wrestling ever. The biggest new is that the death of WCW and ECW has pretty much created a huge downfall of all American wrestling. To this day, I believe Bischoff buying WCW would've been better for all of wrestling.

You have a good point. I have said the same a few times and got bitched at in response. But I notice, more and more lately I'm missing Raw and Smackdown and ordering more and more tapes of wrestling from Japan and old NWA tapes (mostly for the Nikita Koloff, Magnum TA and Great Muta action!). It's actually made watching more enjoyable for me since, if I do find what the WWF offers to be boring or otherwise unacceptable, I flip the channel and watch some New Japan, NWA or even some PRIDE or old UWFi tapes. Fact is, we're not prisoners and if we don't like this crapola, then don't watch it and hit them where it hurts, the ratings!

Now, I watch for my favorites, and I change when they're not on. Oh yeah, and I read the recaps just in case I missed anything important.

If I ever had to force myself to sit down and watch, I would just quit.

I watch the WWF because I enjoy it and it entertains me.

It's not so much a matter of "forcing" myself to watch. It's the inconvenience of either sitting through crap to get to what I want to see, or taking the risk of missing something cool because of contiuous flipping of the channels.

If they would simply hire writers who had a better idea of what the fans want, this wouldn't be such a problem.

I have to disagree with the Vile One about the WWF's PPVs. I have found them to be consistently worth the money every month. Sure there isn't a Bash '96 moment, or a Rock/Austin match, every card, but if that is what you are looking for every month I think your expectations are too high.

The problems lie in the build-up to the PPVs. Take this years Wrestlemania -- if you have the exact same Booker/Edge match, or Regal/RVD match, but with a better build on the weekly TV, the match itself would come off better and more exciting. The exact same match would be improved with a better build-up. One of the strange and wonderful things about Sports Entertainment.

I had the same problem as you did watching Raw and Smackdown every week during the Kiss My Ass Club fiasco. I have a solution to your frustration. Record every show. Never watch them live. Set the VCR. Don't try and watch them in real time. I hope I've made my point.

Watching a bad, boring, unentertaining show over two hours is pure hell and leads to lots of frustration. But with the magic of the Fast Forward button on your side, you can breeze past the crap. I watched a Raw a couple of months ago in less than half an hour, then read up on what I missed on CRZ's recap the next day. Try it ... it really works.

To me , it's like watching an infomercial anymore ( I'm sure that analogy has been made before ) , with all the accelerated matches and angles setting up PPV's . That's why I'm hoping the roster split will help , hey they could even add a third roster with all the talent they have access to , and then they could really work angles

I guess I'll still keep on watching no matter what though , simply because I'm a die hard wrestling fan .

I'm not leaving Shea. I'm just not going to tune into to WWF until it seems to at least me, that the product is worth the time of my day. Plus I lots of great wrestling on tape, so its ok.

What type of tapes do you prefer? Traditional Japan, Hardcore garbage wrestling, Memphis, Texas, NWA?

I have a few old tapes from the WWF and WcW.. but i still enjoy sitting down and watching the shows. Every once in a while (even on their bad shows) they show something good. And i like to sit there and watch just in case something like that happens. It also gives me something to look forward to after a long monday.

If your sick of paying money for bad ppv's, then why buy them? It's pointless really. Why spend $30 for two hours of television.. when you can find out everything that happens the next day and on recaps.

PPV's are pointless, IMO.

The last time I paid the full 30 dollars for a ppv was Summerslam. After Unforgiven WWF went off Directv, and I never bought one ppv. However I did watch them at a friend's house who had cable and pitched in a few dollars.

To answer eastcoastavengers, my classic tape collection is comprised only NWA/WCW and WWF stuff. Some ECW things here and there too.

you make some really good points Vile One.

I stopped watching WWF 6 months ago, b/c I was getting frustrated and complaining about the lack of wrestling and useless promos that lead to nothing....but I realised it is not worth getting angry about, there are more important things in life to get mad about.

so I read CRZ recaps and I feel I haven't missed a thing since (well, except Angle insulting the crowd. I LOVE it when he does that!)

that reminds me, I need to dig out my old WWF tapes...

Gavinzzu, great suggestion. I've been taping RAW for about two years now and watching it shortly afterwards. I can fast forward through commercials, Earlier Todays and Big Show-Mr Perfect matches. Smackdowns usually I watch live while flipping through the channels, but I tend to have an idea before hand of what to watch and what I can ignore.

Anyway, the point is, I still get the great stuff I love to see without all the mucking about with the crap. Because, let's face it, I don't know if I could handle missing Angle bringing the Milk Truck to ringside.

I have to add that if you do the VCR thing, it's less stressful to not be a collector and just record over the old shows. Let it overrun and get some much needed sleep

I'm just wondering what Vile One would *like* to see on WWF shows. Right now we know more about what you don't like, so what kind of show would captivate you? Just curious.

DMC. How about something that isn't like the same WWF tv program for ages? Like no 20 minute interviews at the beginning, middle, and end of shows. A show free of all the McMahons on it. A show that doesn't have Hogan doing a stupid 80's promo. A show that actually might have more than 1 match go over 10 minutes. A show that goes to another match or something instead of some stupid backstage skit or segment. A show with some legitimate tag teams and CW. A show with a good built up main event. A show free of stupid TNA tease gimmicks. A show with a fresh feud that actually gets me excited about wrestling(the last one to actually do that was Jericho/Rock late last year). A show with good title defenses that with titles that mean something. And how about some solid ppv cards worthy of their 30-45 dollar price tags?

How's that for you DMC?
