Microsoft's MSN Search AND live.com Live Search both seem to resolve to www.bing.com now. Intriguing!

(I only noticed because they are throwing some DVD searches my way, which will always get my attention ;-) )

Yea, they started rolling this out this weekend elsewhere in the world. Learn more about what they'd like you to call a 'decision engine'.

Olivia Munn has been talking about it on her blog, because I guess she is co-hosting its launch day or something like that.

Now Microsoft wants to make my decisions for me? How helpful of them. (I can't believe nobody nobody at Microsoft thought that this may not be the best naming choice!)

I give it about 6 months till it evolves to the point of returning "interesting" results for Apple-related products.

Also, anybody happen to have heard what their policies are regarding "information hiding" countries' mandates?

We got a call at work today regarding the fact that you can use the 'video thumbnail' feature to search for and watch (tiny) porn without actually having to access the porn site, and as a result had to block it on some firewalls. We all found that call slightly amusing.

You believe me, don't you?
Please believe what I just said...

Is there a good ANY reason to install Silverlight (something that I've really avoided doing on my laptop) to use a search engine?

We all have ways of coping. I use sex and awesomeness.

All the games broadcast on mlb.com are in Silverlight. And if things remain consistent with last year, all of the official online olympics coverage too. Its actuslly quite good and feels more lightweight than Flash. The sketchflow stuff for developing Silverlight they showed at MIX also looks kinda cool

It says so right here in the wcw handbook!

They're actually back to Adobe Flash this year.

Never, no matter how tempting, give anyone crap about saving files on their local PC instead of the networked drive that is backed up. One day, it will come back to haunt you if you do. Damn laptop.
