Exactly!! You'd think with all the people who really dislike Steph's silicone-enhanced guts, they'd get a major kick out of the Three Minute smashing of her. I don't get the people naysaying the outcome of this, but whatever, guess some people have to always be negative.

For once, my friend, you and I are in complete agreement.

I'd think this whole thing would actually turn the Island Boys face. I don't care if Steph came out and handed out hundred dollar bills like Jake Roberts after WrestleMania V, I still wouldn't buy her as a face.

This decision is utterly brilliant - and it's not just because it's an effective way to pay off the AGD angle. It's also brilliant because it's perfect fodder for the GM angle.

Now the rival GM's have TWO ways to get someone to jump ship - attract them with longwinded promises and the like, or antagonize them, and FORCE them to jump ship to get revenge. It's so simple and brilliant: Uncle Eric will never, ever let Billy and Chuck get their hands on Rico and the Island Boyz... unless they go to Raw, thus screwing the real target, Stephanie, over in spectacular fashion.

I think Stephanie's insane if she doesn't react to this by convincing Tommy Dreamer to jump to Smackdown with the promise of resurrecting the Hardcore division - in the grand tradition of ECW, rather than the 24-7 nonsense, which SD is well equipped to do with Paul E. on the writing staff. And THAT would finally bring balance to the title situation...

RAW
World Heavyweight Title (WCW World Title)
WWF Tag Team Titles
WWF Women's Title

Smackdown
WWF "Undisputed" Title
WWF Cruiserweight Title
WWF Hardcore Title (ECW World Title)

If Vince would just splurge for the ECW rights, he'd be able to use vestiges from each of the Big Three on camera. How cool would that be?

This sounds really cool. I was begining to think that August, and Summerslam may have been nothing more than the last hurrah for WWE. But this has me thinking it could continue.

Edit: Texas, I think RVD still has the Intercontinental Title on Raw.

That's a fantastic idea, TK. If the WWF is actually smart enough to have their thinking going down that path, it just may start to stae off the downward slump they've been experienced. Of course, it doesn't help that they've almost completely discredited their undisputed champion, but whatever. Baby steps, heh.

Sorry, but whether it's Moolah, Lillian Garcia or even Stephanie McMahon, I just don't see how having two 300-pound monsters in faux-gangsta outfits beat the crap out of women is even remotely entertaining.

This is lame, bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.

It's not just the "having two 300-pound monsters in faux-gangsta outfits beat the crap out of women", which BTW they don't do they beat the crap out of EVERYONE, it's how it's done. Bischoff with the upper-handed swarminess, the Island Boys with their little stalking beforehand (although there probably wasn't time for that this go-round), and Bischoff laughing his ass off, watching. It's just entertainingly good stuff.

This is a brilliant move by the WWE, for the reaons that Texas Kelly stated. I was amazed they could come up with something so intelligent, especially after the last few weeks.

The only problem is that there won't be any gay face characters after all. Billy and Chuck admitted that they are straight, and Rico is a heel (and we still don't know if he is gay anyways). The Island Boyz are the perfect heel tandem to get people on B and C's side, and we might see them WRESTLE sooner than later.

All hail Paul Heyman (and the other writers).

A couple of tidbits about the dark matches, Mike O'Lay is actually Horace Hogan. Also isn't it ironic that Lenny Lane wrestled a dark match last night.

I think I was one of the few who called for Steph's three minutes. I think it was defitely worth it from the spoilers alone. Still the HLA backlash and the mainstream press may have put some long term question marks on the WWE, I think that this was the best way to wrap up this whole thing. I was thinking that Billy and Chuck would go to RAW, then again they still might. The ratings for next week's RAW may be brutal, but let's get back to the highs of late July, shall we? No matter how the WWE portrays them, you will never hear me booing virgins or gay people Billy Gunn, on the other hand...

I've enjoyed this thread and I think Texas Kelly is the possessor of some terrific ideas.

As a side note, however, don't you all hope that we get to see the Island Boyz do the press into a samoan drop on Steph? That would KICK ASS.

As you might guess, I'm banking on the IC title being retired and unified with the World Heavyweight Title in two weeks when RVD faces Teo at the PPV, irregardless of who wins.

Mike O'Lay is actually Horace Hogan.

I saw one set of spoilers that said he was introduced with the last name of "Bolea", which could easily have been mistaken for "O`Lay".

Steph's silicone-enhanced guts

Uhm, I don`t think that`s the exact part of her body that`s enhanced... :)

Irregardless isn't a word.

I'm holding off my judgement until I see this with my own eyes, but reading the spoilers leaves me fairly well offended.

So the pimp comes out and makes a last minute plea for heterosexuality?

So the gay heels turn straight, and thereby become babyfaces? Yeah yeah, it was the Raw attack that made them faces. That's a GREAT cover story.

The Torch reported today that GLAAD loves the storyline. Something tells me they don't know how it's going to end on Thursday.

I'm waiting to see this on Thursday but on paper this is BULLSHIT.

The point is they were never gay to begin with. They never said they were gay, at least until last week, and even then, THEY never said they were gay. Everyone else did.

Furthermore, I do have a feeling that there is at least a chance that they may have been forced to pull the plug on the angle. Look at TNN, the WWE is in hot water with them, after the fact because TNN had no real way of knowing about it, over the use of lesbians. However, with all the publicity it has gotten, there is every reason that UPN knew about that angle before the Tuesday taping. It's at least possible that UPN simply said "You know that gay marriage thing, kill it, we don't want to mess with it." I mean, the WWE did make a release warning parents about upcoming same-sex storylines. With this result, that release hardly seems necessary. (Of course, that release may well have just been part of the publicity stunt, and they may have never intended to go in that direction in the first place). Just food for thought, I have no way of knowing.

But personally, I really like this payoff. This has put the show in the 'must watch' column for me.

Quick prediction: Monday on RAW, for the first time, the three minute beatdown fails when Chuck and Billy make the save and clean house! Chuck and Billy move to RAW, which only makes sense, since all the tag-teams are on RAW.

I don't buy that "they were never gay" thing for a second.

If Sgt. Slaughter said "But I was with America all along!" four months after that Iraqi-sympathizer angle, he wouldn't have been any less of an Iraqi-sympathizer during the angle.

Billy and Chuck never specifically said they were gay. Chuck never specifically asked Billy to marry him either. That semantics bullshit doesn't hold.

What kind of divison would they have though?

Tommy Dreamer
Hardcore Holly
Crash Holly

The WWE's Women's division has more depth to it than a Smackdown based Hardcore division would. RAW was the best place for that kind of division just because they have the roster that's used to pullimng off those kind of matches.

Personally, I'm glad the Hardcore division is done with. Let the talent compete in normal matches and save the no-dq, falls count anywhere stip for the big blowoff matches.

If Steph is going to get revenge, it will most likely be an inter-promotional match at Unforgiven. Maybe with a stip that would give the winner a shot at the tag belts at No Mercy, giving Smackdown a chance to get the tag belts back. Or maybe she grabs RVD and the IC belt next week and thus threatens for Smackdown to take yet another World Title from Raw.

Heck is for people that don't believe in Gosh.
