| #1 Posted on 14.10.02 1320.37 | Okay, we got Kane the Murderer, and Taker the Lothario (fancy word for philaderer, which is a fancy word for ladies' man). Imagine my joy. Look, I hope that both of these are just smokescreens or something, because as much as I respect the people of the WWE (usually), I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach (which resembles low grade diarrhea). But, I'll give them this week, and this week only. The only thing entertaining about this angle are seeing the words (Dead Man Cheating, Big Red Murderer) on WWE.com. That cracked me up. Does anybody know any red murderers out there? Opinions are welcome, and I have to remind you that although I am reluctant to see how this plays out, I'll give it a chance (a real small one). As far as Taker goes, I will save myself the head throbbing experience of last Thursday, and read this week's spoilers.

| #2 Posted on 14.10.02 1422.16 | From my sitting-on-the-sofa view, Taker the Lothario was a lot more entertaining than Kane the Murderer. ;-) Tripsy let all the air out of Kane's singlehanded tag team victory--I went from a good feeling to "What the fuck?" in six seconds flat, and that was the end of the show, so nothing had a chance to redeem it.
Tracy the hired slut, on the other hand, had me chuckling. It's no secret that I'm a Taker mark, of course, and his expressions cracked me up--not to mention Heyman's grin when Brock called Sara. I'd much rather have overdone funny skits than grim and grisly ones. In a wrestling context, murder ain't plausible. Philandering, or at least unfounded accusations of same while your wife is pregnant and on the warpath--that makes a little more sense. Yeah, it's sudsy as hell, but I doubt it will get in the way of the HIAC match itself.
Which had better be a slobberknocker--speaking of letting all the air out of the finish, Taker owes me big for Unforgiven.

| #3 Posted on 14.10.02 1806.27 | Maybe I'm just too easy, but I'm doing fine (so far) with both angles.
We haven't really gotten anything yet about the Killer Kane story. Yes, the expose' at the end of the TLC match was badly-timed. It sucked the life out of the ending of the TLC match (in very much the same way that the DDQ sucked the life out of the rest of Unforgiven). And that's a bitch. However, that's a separate issue than whether or not they can manage to do something interesting with the angle.
Dead Man Philandering is going fine -- I'm completely in accord with M.Manga's comments. The way that they splashed the information in the middle of the show, & then referred back to it twice more was a much better strategy, too. (Hey, we find that Brockie can be psychologically eeeee-vil even without Paul -- that's fun all on its own!)
Interestingly, there were 2 things different about this plotline in the live show than what they ultimately aired. First, after Tracy left with Brock & Paul & y'all cut to commercial, we had Taker hanging out in the ring while the other group got up the ramp. It was a lot more of a guilty pacing, rather than the pissed-off, kicking things response that I might have expected. As he was finally getting ready to leave, he got a very reserved-but-politely-supportive applause from the crowd. We were definitely getting more guilt than you did.
Second, the "Taker on the Phone with Sara" video that we got live was much more Taker yelling into the phone in frustration -- clearly more of a shouting argument. The one that they showed was a much softer version, with him trying to explain. Interesting.
The most annoying thing to me: Why the hell did they have to name her Tracy? We've already got Trish, Torrie, Terri, Stacey, & Stephanie floating around. Perhaps we need to send the writing staff a book of girls names, so they can branch out a bit. Yeeesh.
(By the way, off topic, we also got a different take of the "Chavo/Eddie conspire to beat up Kurt/Benoit in the closet" video. Ours had more finesse at the end; the response to Chavo's "Did you get the job done?" in ours was "Looks like it.", rather than the more leading "Kurt ANGLE...got the job done.") | Stephanie

| #4 Posted on 15.10.02 0313.37 | Instant Rating: 5.22 | Well, Kane's angle outright sucks now. How does Kane being a disfigured, mask-wearing, drunk-driving, MURDERING apparent necrophiliac make him an effective face against the heel PoocHHHie? Others have mentioned that one possible payoff to this mess may be to have Hurricane being the provider of this information, leading to a Kane - Hurricane conflict. Hmm, where have I seen that before (kanexpackanexpackanexpac)?
Given the apparent cluelessness on RAW, I'm not holding out much hope for the "Two-Timing 'Taker" angle on Smackdown!. Will Sara file for divorce on the eve of the PPV, making Lesnar the Smackdown! Cerebral Assassin? It makes the head hurt just thinking about it.

| #5 Posted on 15.10.02 1017.00 | On what happened last night? No comment, I'm gonna go watch some old WWF tapes and the indies for a while. I know there's Smackdown, but to hell with this soap opera crap. Seriously, do they think we'll buy ANYTHING these days?!

| #6 Posted on 15.10.02 2321.37 | All I can say is that I'm not happy with the Kane murder angle. I hate it. I don't want to see it. It has ruined RAW for me for the past two weeks. The only good thing I can say about it is that it has made me decide to hold on to my PPV $$ for this month.
I am saddened because I view this as pure laziness on the part of WWE RAW writing. For the better part of his WWE career, HHH has been a heel. And not just a heel, but a 'Damn Good' heel. He doesn't need this crap to solidify his legacy as being a heel. This sucks.
On the other side, I hate how I've been waiting all this time for Kane to come back... I was happy with him winning the Tag Title with Hurricane and all the possibilities of that union... I was glad to see the Big Red Machine move into embracing his freakdom... And now... This.
I just keep hearing the Wayne Cochrane/Pearl Jam remade song "Last Kiss". Kane and Katie out in the car on a date... so on and so forth. | Ringmistress

| #8 Posted on 16.10.02 1231.19 | I am biting my nails about Smackdown, that's all I can say. ;-) I'm not sure whether to read the spoilers or just let the ickiness flow in real time. Dammit, I like Kane, and now every time I see a shot of his masked mug I think "semen in dead body".
I really don't want a similar association with Taker. Please. Why should I tense up at the thought of watching what used to be my favorite TV show? Don't crap all over my fun time, Vince. Gee, if you didn't want anyone in my demographic watching, you could have SAID so.
Or maybe you just did.
