Anyone else catch this? I liked the previews, but when I found it was from the creators of 2 1/2 Men, I was afraid that we would get a show about nerds from people who didn't know anything about them.
But I was wrong. It got off to a nice start with theme music by Barenaked Ladies. Very fitting.
Each of the 4 nerds seemed to fit a category I could recognize. Leonard is the most normal of the four, and probably similar to the way most nerds see themselves. Sheldon can't stand stupidity, and is far too blunt with his criticisms. Howard is the guy who thinks he's smooth, but really he isn't. And finally we have Rajesh, who can't talk to women.
Maybe the stupidity of the female character will get tiresome to me; but I'm liking it so far.
I also watched this and assumed that the funniest bits were already shown in the previews. I was happy to see that there was a little more to it than that. I will give it another chance, but the Hawking imitation that Howard does makes me laugh every time I saw that promo.
CRZ had to edit my profile and close my table for me before, but I did this one all by myself with Frosty's help!
So basically, this show can do whatever it wants. Documentary sitcom, check. This was, I think, maybe the second-most impressive of all the (now-many) genre experiments they've done. Because not only was it shot differently (obviously)
