While I understand the logic in having people on hand in case the 88-year-old White isn't up to being all over the show, SIX co-hosts? I worry this will turned into a glorified cameo for Ms. White.
Let's see, Betty White obviously as Rose, Poehler as Blanche, maybe Dratch as Sophia and...Forte as Dorothy?
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock." -- Orson Welles, The Third Man
I was under the impression that this will be a "The Best of SNL Women" show, not a regular SNL show, that will mostly consist of a selection of the funniest clips from Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler.
The show should be 95% past women sketches with a few short skits involving Betty White interacting with the other female cast members sprinkled throughout the show, similar to what they did with Gilly (Kristen Wiig) for the SNL "Best of" Christmas episode.
Not exactly Movies or TV, but not really right for Music or Print either as a home for this thread. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, directed by Julie Taymor with music by Bono and The Edge had it's first preview screening tonight.
