I have about 60 tapes with episodes of RAW and Smackdown on them and I want to condense the best matches and segments onto a best of compilation. Now if anyone has any suggestions from December of 98 to About Judgement Day 2001 with a couple of other episodes sprinkled in, could you post them here? Thanks.

A few suggestions, if you weel.

RAW

- The night Austin attacks Vince McMahon in his hospital room. Always a classic.

- Austin vs Vince McMahon, where Dude Love turns on Austin.

- DX's Nation Skit

- DX's Corporate Skit

- Al Snow vs Road Dogg, Hardcore title match.

SMACKDOWN

- From the original Smackdown, where the Corporate Ministry first formed.

- TLC3

- Triple H's "Best Three of Five" Challenge laid out by Vince McMahon

- Austin/Benoit. Duh.

- Rock & Sock Connection vs Big Show/Taker, Buried Alive match. Hot segment at the end.

I'll go with a few of the more obvious choices, at least to me:

The Two Man Power Trip vs. The Canadian Connection for the tag-team title on RAW in May of 2001.

The night Steve Austin regained the WWF World Title from Kurt Angle on RAW. I was there live and I seem to remember that it was a very good match (but the experience of seeing the WWF live is good enough to make a good match look like a very good match). Plus, Austin was absolutely fucking HILARIOUS on the mic during the commercial break before Angle's entrance-- I wish you guys could've heard it on television. Sigh. Why couldn't they have run with that, instead of WhatWhatWhatWhatWhatWhatWhat?

The stupid-ass Rock and Sock Connection This Is Your Life segment which was the highest-rated segment on RAW, ever. You can tell what my opinion of it is, but I grudgingly admit that it has some sort of historical significance. I guess somebody had to have liked it.

The RAW following No Way Out 2002. You know which segment I'm talking about.

The RAW in which Chris Jericho defeated Triple H for the WWF World Title, only for the little bastard to have it overturned in a chickenshit move by the WWF.

I can't believe it! I just got pinned by a freaking 12-year-old!--

It wasn't, by the way.

Chris,

I believe you, but... it wasn't? I thought WWE maintains that it was.

Or did the segment take place on SmackDown? LOL...

Just put all the 5-Second Poses together!

And the kazoos. Definitely the kazoos. "Here is Chris Benoit and he's really mad..." Our Lady Peace should have kept those lyrics.

Get every Hardcore Holly promo from the summer of 99. Guaranteed laughs. Man, that Superheavyweight gimmick was classic.

Ah, yes. The Hardcore Holly Chokeslam Tour '99. We kept count, he was chokeslammed 12 times during that gimmick (By Kane, Taker, Big Show). I kinda miss the Big Shot.

Did Milkamania happen during that time frame? If so, you have to include it.
I second the motion for Canadians vs. Two Man Power Trip. By God, that was one of the best matches I've ever seen.

I'd include:

-the conquistadors appearances from fall 2000

-shamrock v. gotch gracie steel cage match (smackdown, fall 1999?)

-dec. '97- stone cold throws the rock's IC belt off a bridge, rock responds in april '99 by throwing the smoking skull belt off a bridge, and the stone cold 'funeral' the following week (will your roody poo candy ass fit in that casket?)

i'm sure there's more, but that's all i can think of off the top of my head.

too bad you didn't have pre-98. there was some good stuff on raw then too, believe it or not

I have been thinking of doing the same with my RAWs/Smackdown...and here are some suggestions (not including what was put in Best of Raw Vol. 1-2-haven't seen 3):

RAW:

-Road Dogg vs. Al Snow Hardcore match (1/4/99)

-Rock/Mankind ladder match (2/15/99)

-Ten Man Tag (2/7/2000)

-Edge's birthday party (September 2000?)

-Austin vs. Benoit (night after Survivor Series 2000)

-Benoit vs. Guerrero (3/12/01)

-Angle vs. The Rock (3/12/01)

-Two Man Power Trip vs. Y2J/Benoit for the Tag-Titles (5/21/2001)

-Benoit vs. Angle Cage Match (6/11/2001)

-The Angle/Austin skits that took place right after KOTR '01 (I put these in a 2 hour tape)

Smackdown!:

-The Return of Cactus Jack (1/13/00)

-Mick Foley's "retirement" promo-just stop it when Stephanie shows up (2/24/00)

-Edge & Christain mock The Hardy Boyz' home movies (right before Unforgiven 2000)

-Austin vs. Benoit (5/31/01)

That's all that I can think of for now.

- the debut of CHRIS JERICHO on raw in 1999.

- the radicalz debut, cactus jack taking credit for bringing them into the federation, their subsequent heel turn, and the 10 man tag between jack, too cool, rikishi and the rock vs the radicalz (minus eddie g), hhh and x-pac.

- the terri invitational tournament (maybe, considering the final match was on ppv, it might not be a wise choice to include the whole tourney).

- jericho's "phantom" world title win over hhh from april 2000.

- the edge and christian kazoo segments (edge's birthday part was the first ones, followed by the "angle" version later in the show, the benoit version a week or two later, and even a crash holly version.)

- any five-second poses with edge and christian.

- mankind's title victory on the january 4, 1999 episode of raw.

- if possible, the canadian chrises' title victory over the two man power trip, and the tlc match that followed (may 21 and 24, 2001).

---

a "best of..." raw and smackdown comp for almost three freakin' years is going to be hell to put together, when you consider how much footage that is. there is almost no way in hell that you can fit that on one 6 or 8 hour tape, so it would probably be best to include two or three full tapes of hilights.

to semi-pimp my own stuff, i have compilation tapes of matches from raw, smackdown, velocity and heat from june 26, until possibly the end of august. it is going to be 8 hours (i have about 7 filled as of now), and so far it includes over 40 matches. on the tape, i've included any match that has caught my fancy. it also includes every televised wwe cruiserweight match since the end of june. no ppv matches, though.

RAW

-Austin/Angle from January 2001, when Trips gets Angle DQ'd then beats Austin to a bloody pulp. One of the best segments of the year.

-Three letters: E-C-W. The Storm/Awesome Vs. Kane/Jericho match and the subsequent Heyman promo was some of the best TV ever.

-Already mentioned, but Jericho's debut. Just spine-tinglingly awesome.

-Vince Macmahon's WWF Title win from SmackDown! Always good for a laugh.

-All of the DX-WCW Invasion stuff (eg. when they drove up to Monday Nitro and hammered on the door).

Plus numerous great matches that are all obvious choices.

Old School's Film Quote O' The Week-"This story's gonna grab people! It's about this guy, he's crazy about this girl, but he likes to wear dresses. Should he tell her? Should he not tell her!? He's torn, Georgie! This is drama!"
-Jonny Depp as Edward D. Wood, Jr. in Ed Wood. Or is it Vince Russo upon his triumphant return to WWE-Land?

And if you have it, you need to edit in Tony Schivone telling us that Mick Foley, a man who can't draw, wins the world title in Raw's main event. One of the classic and defining moments in WcW's downfall.

The night Austin attacks Vince McMahon in his hospital room. Always a classic.
I'd include this segment and the even more important one that preceded it... Mankind paying a visit to Mr. McMahon to entertain him, the segment that spawned the debut of... Mr. Socko.

Did Milkamania happen during that time frame? If so, you have to include it.
Unfortunately, Milkamania didn't occur until several months later, at the height of the Invasion angle and the Austin/Angle feud... heck, Austin & Angle weren't even guitar-playing, badge-wielding buddies yet. And while Milkamania was hilarious in of itself, don't forget that the segment that immediately precedes it, Austin Appreciation Day (complete with "Wind Beneath Our Ring" & "follow the bouncing Austin head") is a *prime* Wrestlecrap candidate if I've ever seen one.

Three letters: E-C-W. The Storm/Awesome Vs. Kane/Jericho match and the subsequent Heyman promo was some of the best TV ever.
Post-KOTR, so in all likelihood he doesn't have it.

And if you have it, you need to edit in Tony Schivone telling us that Mick Foley, a man who can't draw, wins the world title in Raw's main event. One of the classic and defining moments in WcW's downfall.
A better idea, if you have the tape... put the Fingerpoke of Doom on right after Mankind's title win, so that the juxtaposition makes the WWF's awesomeness of the time and WCW's total suckitude completely obvious.
