Okay, I plan on buying a Samsung 19-inch LCD monitor ... The price seems to be pretty damned good compared to some other 19" monitors I've seen on the market, and (from what little research I've done) Samsung appears to be a pretty reliable brand when it comes to their monitors.

Does anyone here prefer any other models? Or would I be a fool to pass up this deal (which ends tomorrow)?

Dell often runs specials on their LCD monitors. You can check through http://www.gotapex.com/ on their deals section for prices. That's an OK deal, but you may be able to do better if you time it right with Dell.

This is the exact monitor I have. I bought it earlier this year and I haven't had a problem with it yet.

It has the best deals on Dell stuff that I've seen. Hook me up with a better deal and I'll pimp a different site

When I was running Ubuntu on a desktop system, I stuck with Gnome. It seems to be my favorite. Asking about this on the W is like asking a bunch of Christians if you should be a Hindu or a Buddhist. Good luck.
