I think it's funny that he's got five days off because of this. He made a mistake, yes, and you can't use that word on TV, but it's just a word. Did it warp minds? Is somebody that fragile that they can't take hearing a word like that? He apologized, and he sounded sincere, so move on. Maybe give him one day off, but five? Give me a break.

Eh, I don't think there was anything wrong with him getting suspended. If he dropped the f-bomb because of some crazy play or because something happened in the booth and it just slipped then that's one thing, but he started swearing because he messed up a line? You have to be a lot more composed than that to be doing a live broadcast, I got no problem with giving him 5 days to send a message to be more careful.

He thought they were taping a segment to be played during the pre-game.

Maybe, but that alone is enough to get fired let alone suspended if his name wasn't Bert Blyleven.

Yea, he's totally lucky here. I saw a San Diego news anchor get fired for doing the same thing. That was rough.

No big deal. It was an understandable screw-up.

Living in Kansas, I followed them all season and never thought they would be able to get this far. Is it just me or is baseball the only major pro sport in the USA that allows for this type of run?
