I heard about him being in the hospital just yesterday. I don't know much about the disease he had, but it sounded like he fought hard against it for the past 20 years or so and it just caught up to him.
I think he will go down as one of the great comedians of this generation. His bit on "The Kings of Comedy" was one of the best pieces of comedy I have ever seen. And his show was really fun to watch as well, though I don't think he got as much respect for it as it should had.
There were a bunch of "Bernie Mac is dead!" rumors floating around early this week/last weekend, so some of the radio stations around here were going out of their way to point out the fact that he was still alive but just sick in the hospital. They even said he was getting better and could be released from the hospital any day now.
Buffy's been dead and buried for a few years now*. I've accepted it and moved on. Talk about Buffy spin-offs should go in the Weekly World News right under the story about Elvis found alive in some diner.
