What the hell?!

Actor and comedian Bernie Mac dies at age 50

I had heard he came down with pneumonia, but everything I heard made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I definitely didn't expect this. This really sucks.

RIP

I heard about him being in the hospital just yesterday. I don't know much about the disease he had, but it sounded like he fought hard against it for the past 20 years or so and it just caught up to him.

I think he will go down as one of the great comedians of this generation. His bit on "The Kings of Comedy" was one of the best pieces of comedy I have ever seen. And his show was really fun to watch as well, though I don't think he got as much respect for it as it should had.

RIP Bernie.

I was in the Chicago area last weekend (where he lived) and WBBM was playing out the pneumonia as no big deal, like It's False noted.

A sad surprise to start the day with.

There were a bunch of "Bernie Mac is dead!" rumors floating around early this week/last weekend, so some of the radio stations around here were going out of their way to point out the fact that he was still alive but just sick in the hospital. They even said he was getting better and could be released from the hospital any day now.

Very sad news. He will be missed.

I always enjoyed his work. His show wasn't the best, but it was damn near the best sitcom Fox has ever put out. I'm going to miss seeing him pop up in random roles.

Holy crap! This is a sad day. I loved his preacher role in Friday.

Amen, Seconded and Thirded. I was watching some youtube clips this morning after I heard and even though I've seen them all 100 times they still make me laugh.

Rip Bernie - you were one funny Motherf**ker!

Another great comedian is gone; where's the justice?

I really enjoyed his stand-up work, and it's really sad to see him go.

Rest in Peace, Bernie.

Might as well get as much use out of the TAR tag as possible! -The family dichotomy is interesting. Interesting enough that it will still be interesting come the end of the season? Too early to tell!
