Tonight, our Lord and Savior, Chris Benoit will return to Pay-Per-View wrestling for the first time in 13 months. So, in preparation for him and Eddie Guerrero schooling the New Dudley Boyz, let's review the sweet, sweetness that is Benoit on WWF Pay-Per-View:

No Way Out 2000: On the show that saw Mick Foley retire, the R4dicalz debuted on pay-per-view against Too Cool and Rikishi in Six-Man Tag Team Action. Seeing as how they were new, and Guerrero was injured, the team of Benoit, Saturn and Malenko barely lost...getting put over hugely by Rikishi and his boys. Great tag match.

WrestleMania XVI: After two months in the WWF, Chris Benoit becomes the Intercontinental Champion in the first-ever Two Titles, Two Falls Match. Benoit pins Jericho for the IC Title, while Jericho pins Benoit for the European Title, leaving previous double-champion Kurt Angle (the third man) beltless. Great match.

Backlash 2000: Benoit retained his Intercontinental Championship by disqualifcation against Chris Jericho. Good match, bad finish.

Judgment Day 2000: Benoit! Jericho! IC Title! Submission Match! Benoit wins, getting put over huge as a crazy mofo with a killer finisher. Great match.

King of the Ring 2000: Benoit snaps and clubs Rikishi with a chair, losing his King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match by DQ and losing some heat. Crappy match.

Fully Loaded 2000: Benoit main events the show, and is announced as the WWF Champion at one point. Alas, a Dusty Finish saw The Rock retain his title...but Benoit established as a main eventer. Great match.

SummerSlam 2000: Benoit! Jericho! 2 of 3 Falls! Benoit wins with evil heel cheating, get put over further in a great match.

Unforgiven 2000: Another title shot for Benoit, another retainment for the Rock, this time in a Fatal-FourWay match involving Kane & The Undertaker. Once again, we're teased as Benoit is announced as Champion...but another Dusty Finish. Good match.

No Mercy 2000: Benoit! Triple H! Whoo! Great match, good psychology and Benoit getting "the rub" from H.

Survivor Series 2000: The Radicalz beat Chyna, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and K-Kwik. Okay-ish match.

Vengeance 2000: Benoit dismantles Gunn for the IC Title. Crap match, majorly just a Benoit squash.

Royal Rumble 2001: Benoit! Jericho! Ladder Match! IC Title! Jericho wins, but a fantastic match.

No Way Out 2001: Benoit! Jericho! X-Pac! Guerrero! IC Title! Fast-paced, excellent Fatal Four-Way Match. Jericho retains the title.

WrestleMania XVII: Benoit! Angle! Great match, Angle cheats to win.

Backlash 2001: Benoit! Angle! 30-minute Submission Match! Benoit wins. Great match.

Judgment Day 2001: Benoit wrestles 5 falls (3 against Angle, losing a 2 of 3 Falls [those being standard, submission and ladder falls] Match due to Edge & Christian interference; 2 in a Tag Team Turmoil Match that saw him and Jericho become Tag Team #1 Contenders) Both matches were superb.

King of the Ring 2001: Stone Cold Steve Austin defeats Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho to retain his WWF Championship in a great match with an okay-ish finish. Benoit takes time of to get his neck fixed, and this is his last show during his first run.

Not a bad run, eh? The only bad matches are against Rikishi and Billy Gunn.

Benoit's performance in Judgment Day last year was probably the single greatest single night performance I've ever seen (with Ric Flair at Royal Rumble '92 and Kurt Angle at the next month's King of the Ring as the only real competition.)

And to think - the next night, he had that classic match where he and Jericho won the tag straps and HHH tore his quad. And then TLC 4, and then two awesome matches with Austin... Jeebus, Benoit actually lives up to the Internet hype, don't he?

(EDIT: realized there's no such word as "Interney")

Benoit's albeit shortlived, but main event push was awesome. Whoever says Benoit isn't pushed, should look again. He puts on good matches whether or not he wins or not. In fact, his best match IMHO is the smackdown main event from Edmonton in May 2001. Good stuff.

He shouldn't lost tonight.

That period from Judgement Day to Invasion was one of the best periods ever in WWE. If he didn't get hurt at King of the Ring, he might've gotten Wrestler of the Year in the RSPW awards last year.

To add on to Benoit's streak.... July 02' Vengence.... jobs to the new damn Dudley Boyz. Not that I don't like the Duds, but in one year he goes from main event to curtain jurking jobber. Unlike say Triple H who came back looking like poop and stayed on top, Benoit comes back looking stiff and sharp and gets the shaft.

I'm gonna get me an oversized guitar, gain 40 pounds, and become the next D!

Nah, Benoit's only curtain-jerking 'cause Austin went home. Give Vince a month. He likes Benoit, you can tell. They didn't talk about Austin or Triple H a lot while they were injured...but Benoit...

Cage match was on RAW I believe with Austin sitting in and commenting.

I wonder how this affects his status in Ring Ka King.
