Equals an unhappy me.

I was just thinking about how the standing ovation Benoit received after the Rumble match with Angle actually felt really good to see as a fan, and how the Rumble to Mania corridor is the most exciting time to be a WWE fan and all, and I realized that the special feeling I got from seeing Benoit go truly over is a double-edged sword.

Because WWE hasn't done anything right in years. From the Invasion to the nWo to EVERY FREAKIN' THING for a long time now.

And I was just realizing... this is it... this is where they better not mess this one up. They have the ability to take Chris Benoit, who has honest-to-god in-ring talent with mike skills that are definitely lacking, but turn him into a formidable star and main event hand. And since all the stars are aligned, with him being over and the fans wanting someone to cheer for, they're going to 'f' this one up. I think my fandom is going to depend on this one. I'll put up with awful HLA segments and Katie Vick and aborted A-Train pushes and Al Wilson and no justice for Mattitude(begrudgingly, of course), but screwing this opportunity up might just send me to NWA.

The question is - right now, HOW do they push Chris Benoit further than they already have? He's a very-established main eventer, but he can't realistically get the WWE Title until June or July without a) fucking up the Angle-Lesnar Wrestlemania match that they're already hyping or b) not letting Brock get a decent title reign and taking the wind out of his sails again.

The only solution, to me, seems to be sending Benoit over to RAW, where they need a fresh face in the main event (and seem to be dead set against it being Booker or Harvey Dee), and I could definitely get into a HHH-Benoit match.

(And HHH is the devil and he'll never job and he holds everybody down and now this is another thread about HHH. I know where this'll go, and I'm sorry.)

Benoit would really benefit from going over another established star like HHH. A win over the Undertaker would be nice, too. And I don't think that would be a stretch of the imagination, in the fans eyes.

Save yourself the time and the frustration; start watching NWA now. I seriously doubt that Chris Benoit will ever be WWE Champion.

He'll get a token run one day beating Angle but as long as Vince is around, that's all he'll ever get.

Personally, I could careless if Benoit ever gets a Main Event run as long as they keep giving him quality opponents to work with on every PPV and time to work.

And you think that makes YOU the target WWE demographic?! If that's your situation, methinks you are nowhere near young enough to be their goal.

You think that's good, check this out: In THIS room, I got 15 doctors, 26 lawyers, and God.

Shit, we could all play this game. What's next? Do we sit here posting about how we're all 6'5 football players who could kick each other's asses if we ever met?

I'd like to thank all of you for providing truly entertaining message board material.

Or wait, I should type as if literate.

I'd like to thx all of U for making me LOL!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

Anyway, I don't see Benoit's push leading to a title run for a while. My prediction? He'll get the strap sometime during the fall of 2003.

Little hypothetical question about getting Benoyt to Raw:

How? Aren't contracts frozen? And I thought trades were done too.

I think Big Show was traded after the contract freeze, so a trade is possible.

Ah, *the* trade for TBS is done (TBS for D-Von, Morely, Hurricane, and Batista). They could do another as the need suits them.

I'd trade Benoit for van Dam,; opens up a wealth of new possibilties for both guys, as well as improving both shows in different ways.
