Unless, of course, the brain damage he received while performing was a deciding factor in the events that followed.

They don't need to show him. He did a terrible thing that overshadows all of his excellent ring work. I know it might be hard to work around some memorable segments that he was a part of, but oh well.

This is coming from a huge Benoit fan before the murders. I never want to see him again.

Here's the thing. Are you an adult (or close)? Do you have a functioning brain? Then you should be able to see that Chris Benoit is on/going to be on your TV and decide accordingly if you want to watch or not. I know *I* can decide whether I want to watch or not. Sometimes I might decide to watch, sometimes I might not, but I can totally decide and decide comfortably. I don't care whether WWE decides for me, whether it is for "this DVD will suck if we leave this match out" or "we don't need this particular Benoit match here."

One of IJ's favorite things is buying apps that have "name the wrestler." She knows Chris Benoit and she knows what he did (and why she's never heard of him/seen him on TV). One of her OTHER favorite things is watching old WWE clips on Youtube, especially Royal Rumbles (several of which feature Benoit). I mean, I can't pretend that the Benoit tragedy didn't happen, so why try? And why should WWE try?

Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

I agree - but this circles back to the NFL and too many names to remember or list for 100% accuracy. Dave Duerson shot himself in the chest so they could examine his brain; Junior Seau's suicide. OJ. Rae Carruth. Some people forgave Ray Lewis' proximity to murders, some didn't.

For that matter, should I not watch Curt Hennig matches knowing that the pain he endured led to addiction problems that ended his life early?

*Disclaimer - I fully recognize that Benoit's actions were more heinous (probably the most heinous) of all. My entire point may be just picking nits, but if we're concerned about the events that led to tragedy, shouldn't we never watch a replay of a fallen star whose injuries led to their downfall?

Let me be the lone nut that says I am not 100% sure injuries lead to Benoit killing his family. There is the restraining order back when Chris was injured in 2002 that Nancy got. There is also the witness testimony of Chris and his going to the pool after he killed Nancy as well as the two of them going round town. Then there are the texts. I think there was too much calculation involved.

I saw the Frontline report and rightfully scared the shit of me as well. Yet, some of the people talking about how CTE effects people does and doesn't gel that well with Benoit. Yes, people have times where they are aggressive and have no idea what is going on. Yet, they do return to some normality. The question becomes when did Benoit go back to normal after that three day stint. If at any point, he returned back to sane Benoit and he never told anyone what happened an offed himself and his son then its not injuries that caused it.

The reality is even with the brain evidence there is still such a mystery around it, saying it was injuries is a bit shaky. The main problem is WWE is going to profit off of Benoit again. Like JJ said, his daughter gets wrestler apps and now they will have Benoit in them. So, its money back to the WWE. I am sure some people will now buy the network, because Benoit is back in. That is the sickening part and as someone who is interested in the network, it makes me reconsider if I want to see this guy ever again while being cheered.

They are marketing a tape library, not Chris Benoit matches. They aren't going to show the Hard Knocks DVD and Nancy Graces from 2007. Vince isn't going to play a video at the press conference on Wednesday announcing the returns of Dave Batista and Benoit's matches set to "Without Me (Guess Who's Back)." A 1 second clip of Benoit was edited out of the Orton video package showing all of his title wins four days ago. It's slightly harder to manage when you're dumping your entire tape library on demand all at once.

A lunatic fringe might be buying specifically for Chris Benoit but there are also people who are going to buy it to try to smell Jacqueline.

By marketing the library they signaled Benoit is coming back. They have to know on some level it will make them money. The other thing is they don't want to spend the money to edit him out of the library. Its all about money.

The part in bold is clearly the reason behind all of this. It would be a logistical nightmare to edit an entire back catalogue of material in the same way they have the few Benoit matches that have been released on DVD since the murders. I don't believe for a single second anyone in the company is viewing this as a money-making opportunity. This is a company who have gone to incredible lengths to erase Benoit from history over the past few years. If there was an easy way to remove him from everything without removing a huge chunk of the library I'm sure they would be doing it.
