CHICAGO -- Brian Griese agreed to a five-year deal with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, adding depth at quarterback and a potential challenger to starter Rex Grossman.

"I don't think there's any question he's going into the position to compete for the job," Griese's agent Ralph Cindrich said. "That was made clear."

"[P]otential challenger"? I'd be surprised if Grossman starts the season. Then again, I'd also be surprised if Grossman survives the pre-season without injury.

I do feel bad for Kyle Orton, though. From starter to third stringer in the span of what, four games?

Indiana! Indiana!

. . . let it go.

Okay, how freaking scary is Real going to be once FIFA 2004 comes out next year? Also, anyone with more soccer knowledge than I know how much stock to put in the rumors of Man U going after Ronaldinho?
