Anyone play this game on PS2 (or XBOX/Cube)? My son was playing it in the store the other day, and it looked kinda cool, but to drop $40 on a piece of crap like I did last week on Team Rocket would be bad, very bad.

Thanks in advance for any opinion.

I was planning in reviewing "War of the Monsters" (I believe this is the title you're refering to) sooner or later (I rented it about a week ago and I have some notes on it somewhere).

Replay value is lacking for singleplayer, but who plays these kind of games for that? I'm sure you and your son can bond quite nicely beating each other up in overthetop mayhem. If graphics are you thing, they're actually pretty slick. BUT....this game is an aquired taste. Either kids are going to love the overthetop characters and combat....or loathe it. This game is probably a poster child for multiplayer button mashing.

The short version; rent first, to see if you both like it and if it has staying power with one person playing it alone. If you have a GameCube, also try Godzilla, to see which one you like more. Actually, if you own a GameCube, do you and your son a large favour by buying the incredible Super Smash Brothers Melee, which owns multiplayer AND has a great single player, and will full your thirst for a overthetop fighter.

Awesome info, I appreciate it, Nastio. I am sure I will end up renting it this weekend, because I already know my son is dying to play it again (PS2).

Thanks again.

No prob. Also, the physics in the game is pretty neat, as you can toss pieces of a building at people....and you get those pieces from tossing someone into a building and it breaking down.

That's exactly what this board needs...an anti-quebec thread! That's just super. We're all evil, of course.
