Wow, I can't believe people are willing to pay so much for that thing. I bought that when it was still in stores, and it's an interesting read to say the least. Diana sure doesn't seem too fond of most of her family. I heard a lot of criticism at the time that the book was largely erroneous (or made up to sell copies, depending on your take), and if I'm not mistaken Bret's only comment was something to the effect of his being glad his mother passed before she had to read it. I hope you enjoy it; $50 US is a good chunk of change.

I have a copy (I bought it a week before it got banned), but I'm keeping it. Frankly, it's not really worth picking up. Diana's writing is way too angry to offer much insight into the Hart's life. Your better off picking up "Lord of the Ring", Stu Hart's biography.

I don't think it was "banned" as much as it was pulled off the shelves in light of various lawsuits and whatnot...

Martha Hart (the widow of Owen) sued Diana Hart Smith for slander. The book was pulled off the shelves due to the lawsuit.

It's a good read, but keep in mind that it's probably going to depress you. There's a few chapters on both of them growing up, marrying, and the lead up to the fall, and over half the book focuses on her investigation into the case, the lawsuit, and the settlement.

I've read it. It's more of a widow's memoir than a "wrestling" book. Not bad, though.

Diana's book is AWFUL. I never actually bought it (wish I had, in retrospect, to make a quick buck) but I read through the entire thing. It was nothing more than a book-long bitch session about the other members of the Hart family. No one was safe from her wrath. One of the worst books I've read in any genre, and I don't say that because I like the Hart family. It's just plain low.

Martha's book 'Broken Harts', on the other hand, is definitely interesting. As Stilton mentioned, it's NOT a wrestling book, but gives some nice insight into who the 'real' Owen Hart was, not to mention Vince McMahon, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho and others you might be interested in.

Martha is admittedly biased against Vince, but it is a nice memoir nonetheless.

How ironic that I saw Broken Harts at a used bookstore last week in the two dollar bin, yet Diana Hart's piece of trash sells for $100 or so....
