Tebow took a team that had started 1-4 and compiled an 8-5 record, including a playoff victory. My Colts, incidentally, finished 2-14 that year. Your definition of "suffering through a season" must vary from mine. (And with all due respect, 'cuz I sincerely think you're pretty cool, TheBucsFan... as a Bucs fan, you should know better).

In any event, I don't think Tebow got bad treatment from Denver at all. It's the Jets that let him fester on the bench. If Tebow had been traded instead to a team that had actually used him, we'd be having a very different conversation.

This thread is getting silly.

I'm as big of a Tebow fan as they come. His games were always exciting to watch. I don't know why defenses always faltered against him late in games, but they did, and that makes for EXCELLENT television.

But my goodness, people, get real. Tebow is about as bad of a PASSER as there is in the NFL. And in the NFL, if you get figured out, opposing defenses force you to do what you're worst at. Tebow wouldn't have won even eight games with the Broncos this year.

Take the 2011-12 for what it was and enjoy the memories. Maybe he can recreate the magic in Jacksonville, but maybe Barry Sanders will come out of retirement. Don't put too much money on it.

The real problem with Denver was making the decision to let the defense handle the last two minutes of the game. Because that makes perfect sense when they've already allowed Baltimore to put 28 points on the board in one of the most inept performances any defense has ever put up in the history of the league.

Denver's offense and special teams put up 35 points. Short of that idiotic decision, they were not the problem.

But I think a lot of people are irritated that he never even got the opportunity. The Broncos were right to trade him, but the Jets didn't use him even when they benched their #1 quarterback-- no, they played someone else instead of Tebow.

They were no doubt quite happy for all those Tebow jersey sales though, weren't they? I'd like to see him get his release so he can become an unrestricted free agent. You can't tell me there's not one team in the NFL that he couldn't have started for last year.

1) NY Jets not according to them
1) Jacksonville not according to them
1) Arizona if they defaulted to him out of apathy?

I cannot tell you that he couldn't have started for one team.

I don't even hate Tim Tebow like one of those "grr Tim Tebow why is this allowed" people. I don't even know why I'm posting about it. But there seems to be leaguewide consensus on this, for ... some reason.

You're right! Those were quite insightful! I especially liked Eli Manning being likened to Princess Leia.
