HHH over HBK: Hunter hasn't won on PPV since before Xmas, I really don't expect that to change. Also, if Michaels wins it would establish quite the face-heavy hierarchy on Raw with Benoit and Edge set to feud over the title and Michaels winning the big non-title feud.
Benoit over Kane: No possible good whatsoever comes from Kane winning the title right now. Lita isn't turning heel, Kane's not getting a one-day title reign, Edge isn't costing Benoit the title by accident. Edge redeems earlier happenings (more later) by saving Benoit from interference, or a Kane cheat like a chair shot with a bumped ref, to further the uncertainty in their storyline.
Orton over Benjamin: I think Benjamin is eventually the guy to knock Orton off and take the IC title, but that's gotta happen at the end of the feud. This feud has more legs than we've seen so far, so Orton retains to prolong things and set up a switch down the road.
Frenchies over Benoit/Edge: A match very similar to the title change on Raw that has a Benoit screw up this time around. The announcers question whether Edge's reaction will have an impact on the world title match, the Frenchies retain.
Victoria wins womens match: Who cares? Not me. Trish hardly wrestles now, Lita never wins anything, and Gail's push is so secure they downgraded her match to a fourway six days out for really no reason. Victoria and her lame new Nitro Girl gimmick hold onto the title.
Coach over Eugene: Johnny Nitro interferes and helps Coach win to get his job back. Regal goes berzerk. I'm probably the only one, but I'm dyin' to see Regal vs. Bischoff at SummerSlam.
Tomko over Jericho: If little Jericho beats Tomko in his first TV match you can kiss Tomko's intimidation value goodbye. Jericho will eventually win a rematch, but Tomko needs to look good here if they're going to get anything out of him. I think pushing him and Christian as a Shawn/Diesel-esque tag team makes more sense than trying to find singles feuds for them, but in order to get there Tomko needs something more than a couple of missed head kicks to make him credible.
Heat match: Matt Hardy beats Garrison Cade.
A parting thought for those leaning this way: Don't complain too much about the Hell in a Cell match getting more publicity and possibly being the final match on the card. Kane's filler as a world title challenger, in there to give Benoit a strong-looking win for the interim while they build his feud with Edge. HIAC is more interesting and will be the better match. I hope it is the main event, because it will be a very tough act to follow.
I never thought I'd find a group of people worse than Leafs fans, yet there they are: the Calgary Flames bandwagon. It's just an offside...stop cheering you imbeciles!
*World Heavyweight Championship Match -Benoit(c) vs. Kane PICK: CHRIS BENOIT -- As if Kane would win anyways... the dynamic of Kane powering out of the crossface and sitting up after the headbutt is interesting, but God knows why they waited so long to pull that one out of the hat. Still, from the house show reports, should be a decent match.
*World Tag Team Championship Match -La Resistance(c) vs. Benoit/Edge PICK: LA RESISTANCE -- Although Benoit/Edge losing AGAIN thanks to miscommunication would be repetitive, at least they look to be willing to try something with Conway and Grenier.
*Women's World Championship Match (4-way match) -Victoria(c) vs. Gail vs. Lita vs. Trish PICK: VICTORIA -- No real reason for Lita and Trish to be in there... by Trish's logic, Eugene should be in the World Championship match, and her character has been more of a bitch manager rather than a bitch heel wrestler. Lita may stink in the ring, but she's over, I'll give her that. Victoria is just a lame duck champ, but I can't see WWE just destroying her credibility by having her lose AGAIN.
*Intercontinental Championship Match -Orton(c) vs. Benjamin PICK: RANDY ORTON -- I have a feeling that once Orton loses the IC title, he's going to start being involved with the World title scene, and I don't think he's ready for that yet. Evolution interferes, but I don't think that'll directly impact the outcome... could extend the feud, though... which I think will happen since just about every other face is busy.
*Hell in a Cell -Michaels vs. HHH PICK: TRIPLE H -- Both of these guys are leaving soon (HBK because of his kid, HHH because of his movie), so I think that the end result of this match will have the biggest impact in terms of long-term booking... HHH/Benoit looks to be the set RAW ME program for Summerslam, so I'll go with him here.
-Eugene vs. Coachman PICK: EUGENE -- Eugene is one of the most over guys on the roster, no way he loses to Coach on a PPV, no less.
-Jericho vs. Tomko PICK: CHRIS JERICHO -- Jericho has spent a ton of time involved in the Christian/Trish storyline, it's beginning to remind me of the Test/Steiner storyline from last year that just would NEVER END. Tomko doesn't look like anything special to me, although if they want to preserve him I guess they could have Trish interference backfiring, leading to a Jericho win... he just needs to start doing something other than this, it's getting old.
-HELL IN A CELL- TRIPLE H vs SHAWN MICHAELS- HHH vs HBK IS overdone, but I think it will still be a Hell of a match (get it? hell? ha...), It is kind of new in a way though; this IS the 1st time these two have a Cell match together, right? Could be interesting...
-INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP- ORTON vs BENJAMIN- This is just a matter of the WWE's preference; who will get the push? Both these men have been pushed well by the WWE, and its just a matter of who will continue to be pushed and who will stay where they are for a while or go into decline. I rather see Shelton walk away the winner and be pushed; thats just something personal though... I dont like Orton.
-WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP- BENOIT vs KANE Its pretty obvious that Kane is gonna lose; it really cant go any other way; BUT I think it would be cool if Kane wins it by cheating and Benoit has to win it back... This isnt gonna happen specially because of the stupid Lita angle.
An exciting night ahead I believe. Cell match should be fantastic, have a feeling they'll keep the action inside but you never know, wouldn't mind a top of the cell pop. That Kane/Benoit exchange on the last Raw really got me interested in this one, have a feeling tag match will lag a bit beacuse La Resisitance have proved liitle to me and Benoit will be conserving a bit for his later match. Orton and Benjamin may very well steal the show if the cell match fails to deliver (touch wood). Anyway I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the show cause of exams so ya'll watchin it live, enjoy the show and don't tell me what happens!
Here is the recap of the Hogan appearance tonight on FSN,with very interesting questions and answers: Hogan comes out dressed in black, getting a huge reaction from the crowd. He did his trademark poses and the audience went nuts as usual.
