Seeing how crappy the matches Kane has been in lately, I hope Benoit defends the title at Backlash against someone other than him. Especially if I have to pay like 40 bucks for it. Benoit vs. Christian or Jericho would both probably be much better. I'd probably even like to see Benoit vs. Edge if that's at all doable. Those two had a really great match on Smackdown once in 2002 which Edge won.
I also hope its Benoit defending his title one on one in a singles match since he has yet to do that on PPV. I sincerely hope its not one of those lame ass three title on the line tag team matches or a three way. Benoit should start beating people one on one in his matches.

If Kane's going to be facing Benoit, what exactly is he doing at the moment with Matt Hardy and Lita? Badd Blood is in about 6 weeks time, which means that Kane should surely be about to start something with Benoit. They haven't even been in the same ring as each other since Benoit went to Raw.
Jericho could be a challenger, but I think that Christian is CLEARLY the right man for the job. He is pretty damn over right now, and has Tomko to back him up in any contest with Benoit. Christian is a top heel who deserves a shot at the title, and it would be a good victory for Benoit if he had to overcome all of Team Christian. Furthermore, it wouldn't even be the main draw of Badd Blood if the HITC goes ahead, so it wouldn't affect the buyrate negatively. It's time that The Peeps Champion gets taken more seriously as a legitimate contender who has the skills, both on the mic and in the ring, to be a Main Eventer.
After next weekīs Raw we should all know who the #1 contender will be! Here are the participants for that big 20 men battle royal:
1. Rhyno 2. Sylvan Grenier 3. Rob Conway 4. Steven Richards 5. Grandmaster Sexay 6. Johnny Nitro 7. Garrison Cade 8. Shelton Benjamin 9. Rosey 10. Hurricane Helms 11. Christian 12. Val Venis 13. Batista 14. Kane 15. Matt Hardy 16. Ric Flair 17. Triple H 18. Randy Orton 19. Edge 20. Chris Jericho
Kane winning and therefore challenging @ Bad Blood just doesnīt make ANY sense to me! He should wrestle V1.0 and/or Lita - NOT Benoit!
Jericho winning instead would make a LOT of sense! He challenged last week, won a big Raw Main Event cage match this week and has a huge history with Benoit (Great, great matches!)!
Edit: Iīd like to see Jericho and Evolution as the last 5 men in that battle royal with Y2J eliminating all of them - except Flair! Flair should be eliminated by Orton to keep his legend killer gimmick alive and to add some suspense!
HBK/Triple H (hiac) and Jericho/Benoit (world title) @ Bad Blood - Please!! What a PPV that would be!
(edited by Tyler Durden on 11.5.04 0904) The first rule of Fight Club is:
There is no way in fuck Benoit will be cheered over Chris Jericho. The charisma disparity challenges the grand canyon. Unless they're moving Jericho's hometown from Cheektowaga or wherever it is to Fallujah, it's just a bad damn idea.
I'd tell you to kiss my ass, but I don't want to get it infected.
Let's see.... I expect there's gonna be as many matches as Backlash, the last RAW PPV. So, that's 8. Already announced... World Title: Chris Benoit [c] vs. Kane Hell in a Cell: Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H [w/Ric Flair] And the other six... IC Title:
