I noticed that such a thread is conspicuous by it's absence; I can't quite decided whether it's simply coincidental, or whether there is literally zero interest in the show around here. Either way, I'll be watching-I always do-and here are the picks:

Rikishi Vs. Sean O'Haire w/Roddy Piper
There really is no secret here; I wouldn't be surprised to see Snuka wheeled out as 'Kishi's corner-man, and of course there's always the threat of "Mr. America" showing up to kick off one last feud with Piper. That could work, I guess, if Hulky puts O'Haire over...but I'm getting off track.
WHAT I'D DO: O'Haire wins after Piper shenanigans, hopefully with some kind of impressive power move.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Ditto.

WWE Tag Team Title Match: Team Angle Vs. Los Guerreros
Tough call. A title change isn't out of the question, given WWE's non-existent ability with building tag teams, but then there's those pesky Frenchies waiting in the wings. Eh, I'll go out on a limb.
WHAT I'D DO: Los Guerreros take the win after unwanted interference from Le Resistence, leading to a clean-cut tag title feud with team Angle lurking as 'tweeners on the interim.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Team Angle win in supremo heelish fashion, only to turn face once the French get here.

World Tag Team Title Match: Rob van Dam/Kane Vs. Dudley Boyz
Shockingly, one of the most interesting matches on the card. The simmering Dudz tension has me the most intrigued by them since forever, and Kane and RVD are working really well as a tag team.
WHAT I'D DO: The Dudleyz split after miscommunication costs 'em the belts, leading to D-Von being used to push Bubba as a megaheel.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Morley and/or Storm accidentally costs the bros the match then blames the Dudz for being weak, which of course leads to the Boyz laying them out and turning back to faces.

Rey Mysterio Vs. The Big Show
Call me crazy, but I'm looking forward to this match. The dynamics and curiosity factor alone are enough to sell it to me, and if you add to that the fact that Show and rey are the best in their respective size categories you have what could be the sleeper match of the show.
WHAT I'D DO: Rey puts up a good fight but eventually falls to a big ol' chokeslam. It just ain't believable any other way.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Ditto-they may even pull the respect bullshit afterwards.

Women's Title Match: Trish Vs. Jazz w/Theodore Long
Laaaaame. This so easily could've been the chance to break away from the Trish-centric division if they'd have just put the belt on Jazz at Mania. Instead we're stuck with the same old. Hopefully they'll begin changing that here.
WHAT I'D DO: Jazz wins decisively and heads toward a feud with someone not named Trish.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Trish retains, no questions asked.

Six-Man WAR: Shawn Michaels/Kevin Nash/Booker T Vs. Chris Jericho/Ric Flair/HHH
Bleargh. Booked right, this could a golden twenty minutes, but that ain't on the cards. The cripple-focused build-up lends itself easily to ridicule; hopefully they can move away from it here.
WHAT I'D DO: Nash goes heel and joins up as H's strong-but silent bodyguard, but it's all for nought as Booker pulls out a superkick-assisted win over the champ.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: I smell a Clique reunion and a beatdown on the reaminder of each team. But I pray I'm wrong.

WWE Title Match: Brock Lesnar Vs. John Cena
Such a shame. Had this not been so hideously rushed, there may have been seeds of doubt planted; as it is it's just more of the same.
WHAT I'D DO: Brock ekes out a win over Cena but suffers dearly throughout the match.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Squash city, champ retains.

The Rock Vs. Goldberg
Oooh, the tension. This'll be electric, no doubt, and certainly better than Rock/Hogan. But I doubt it'll deliver on what's promised: A once-in-a-lifetime event.
WHAT I'D DO: Goldberg gets a massive win, and Rocky slinks back to Hollywood.
WHAT THEY'LL DO: Ditto.

And there you have it. See you for the after-show!

I'll say:

-O'Haire over Rikishi (although Rikishi is a hoss)
-Team Angle keep the titles by beating Los Guerreros (I'm really split on this one though)
-Dudleyz beat RVD/Kane
-Rey Jr. BETTER beat Big Show (Misterio has more upside, is more over and more marketable- but he's shorter, so Show will probably win)
-Jazz beats Trish (I'm really digging Teddy Long's character)
-Jericho/Flair/HHH beat Michaels/Nash/Book (Michaels or Nash turn?)
-Lesnar retains against Cena
-Goldberg beats The Rock

Rikishi Vs. Sean O'Haire --PICK: SEAN O'HAIRE-- O'haire is a new interesting character, Rikishi is not.

WWE Tag Team Title Match: Team Angle Vs. Los Guerreros -- PICK: TEAM ANGLE-- Team Angle wins totally clean starting to push them face to feud with evil Frenchies.

World Tag Team Title Match: Rob van Dam/Kane Vs. Dudley Boyz --PICK: RVD & KANE-- Dudley's unable to get on the same page, RVD and Kane retains.

Rey Mysterio Vs. The Big Show --PICK: BIG SHOW-- These type of matches do very little for either guy.

Women's Title Match: Trish Vs. Jazz --PICK: TRISH STRATUS-- Really a 50/50 tossup here. I'm going with Trish only because Jazz got the best out of her the last two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if that new girl Gail Kim shows up and helps Trish. Little worried that Trish was in Europe for the past week doing PR and just got back today or late last night, hopefully it doesn't have a negative effect on her.

Six-Man WAR: Shawn Michaels/Kevin Nash/Booker T Vs. Chris Jericho/Ric Flair/HHH --PICK: HHH/ FLAIR/ JERICHO-- Ahh who knows.

WWE Title Match: Brock Lesnar Vs. John Cena --PICK: BROCK LESNER-- Don't think they will give Cena the title this soon.

The Rock Vs. Goldberg --PICK: GOLDBERG-- Rock puts over the very ungrateful and undeserving Goldberg

*This card looks really weak, the last two matches had decent enough hype and interest from me but the result is pretty much a given... Rikish and Big Show took 2 out of the 4 SD spots, err. I guess it could be worse, Sable could have taken a spot

It's sad because there really is zero-interest in Backlash. I'm actually going to it tonight and I really don't care about it. I really don't see any good coming out of this PPV, except if Rey beats the Big Show. Man, that'd kick some major ass!

OK, here I go to pick who will and win while not watching it tonight.

1) O'Haire over Rikishi w/Piper interference

2) Team Angle over Guerreros by use of ropes while pinning

3) RVD/Kane over Dudleys by Dudley's miscommunication

4) Big Show over Rey by clean pin, but Rey will get the last laugh again after the match

5) Jazz over Trish by clean pin

6) HHH team over Nash team by pin, but Nash will turn

7) Lesner over Cena by F5, but Cena will use everything to weaken him. "BLOOD ALERT" (Lesner)

8) Goldberg over Rock by spear/jackhammer pin, Rock will disappear from the wrestling world until Wrestlemania.

Before the match starts, from the moment Rock and Goldberg are in the ring together, the crowd will be 100% Pro Rock. It is going to be the opposite of Summerslam I think.

I might be wrong though.

Big Show vs. Rey- Rey is needed to pop the crowd. Unfortuantly since Big Show/Brock II is an idea, Rey will die a quick death while even the casual fans ask why?

Winner- No one

O'Haire vs. Rikishi- Rikishi has been the big man jobber since Brock got here, so O'Haire gets the job, but Mr. America makes the save at the end. O'Haire is good on the mic has a nice move set and if booked will could be a good main eventer.

Winner- Sean O'Haire

Los Guerros vs. Team Angle. Los Guerros lose even though its becoming obvious Team Angle needs some more time in the ring. If we are lucky, we may have a Kurt run in.

Winner- Team Angle

RVD/Kane vs. Dudley Boys. Since the faces can never hold a belt more than a month, the Dudley Boys win. Its stupid rule, but its a rule. Morley costs the guys the belts and there is no serious results since this angle should have died when Bischoff got fired.

Winner- Dudley Boyz

Between this match somewhere, Eric will do something stupid that will cause Linda or Shane to show up and say tommorrow there will be changes. Hinting to GM Austin.

Trish vs Jazz- Trish loses since Jazz vs. Victoria is a better fued, but I'd wait for Lita/Trish. Once again, the faces can never have the belt for more than a month.

Winner- Trish

Team I am holding everyone down including my teammate vs. Team Hey, who is this black guy doing here inside of my gay lover who is marrying the boss' daughter in October. If its a cliq reunion then I will be happy, but Nash wants that belt, so he pins HHH setting up them at Judgement Day. If it is a cliq reunion, they turn Jericho face which would be the only saving grace of all of this. Booker will barely touch HHH in this match too.

Winner- Team 2/3 clique 1/3 talent.

Brock vs. Cena. This should be a fun match and see if Cena is ready for the big time and if Brock can actually carry someone to a good match. In breaking tradition of the heel must win the title, I'll give the nod to Brock since we all know Big Show is a bigger threat than Cena, Benoit, Eddie or Rhyno.

Winner- Brock and the fans

Goldberg vs. Rock. The crowd reaction will be the most important thing in this match. I do feel that there will be more Rock chants than Goldberg chants. Goldberg needs the big win which Rock will job for. Yet, Rock can't help, but be entertaining which will have people call Rock out for making Goldberg look bad. Its really not Rock's fault since Goldberg is as entertaining as cardboard. Rock jobs, the fans cheer and we are left with Nitro on Monday Nights while Smackdown recovers from injuries and a sense of loss.

Winner-Goldberg.

A Fan- There is no hope.

This has to be the biggest lack of interest in a Pay Per View on this board in quite some time.

But this is nothing compared to what the lack of interest is going to be next month if they go through with the HHH/Nash, Lesnar/Show double Main Event.

This is the first WWE PPV I've skipped since 1997. I see nothing that could possibly make this one worth picking up.

This is as uninspiring a card as I've ever seen in the WWE

Jazz v Trish -- Difficult to call, could be good, Trish retains.

Show v Rey -- Big Show looks angry a lot whilst Mysterio dances him around until the chokeslam puts him away

O'Haire v Rikishi -- O'Haire's promos were awesome and this match will hopefully show he can cut it in the ring with an impressive victory

Team Angle v Los Guerreros -- Hopefully this one is given some time for it to shine, hopefully Kurt Angle will show up, hopefully Team Angle retain

RVD/Kane v Dudleyz -- The conflicted nature of the dudleyz as champs wounldn't be quite as entertaining as Angle/Benoit was, RVD/Kane retain

HHH/Flair/Jericho v HBK/Nash/Booker -- Faces win, Nash over HHH. The clique will definitely be the ending, but hopefully the rest will carry the match.

Lesnar v Cena -- Cena should put up more than jobber offense, perhaps hitting Lesnar with the chain, but the F-5 should be enough

Rock v I Hate Goldberg -- I hate Goldberg but he will defeat the Rock cleanly

Now can u dig that

Jazz v Trish: Jazz with help from Teddy Long

Show v Rey: Show's going to win but Rey will end up looking good also.

O'Haire v Rikishi: O'Haire will win cleanly after Snuka takes out Piper.

Team Angle v Los Guerreros: Team Angle will win wih Kurt or maybe Eric's help.

RVD/Kane v Dudleyz: Dudley's win with help from Morley and Storm. D-Von won't be happy about winning this way, so their troubles continue.

HHH/Flair/Jericho v HBK/Nash/Booker: Ether a complete Clique reunion, or just a Nash heel turn will help HHH's team win.

Lesnar v Cena: Brock will win but Cena won't look like a jobber.

Rock v Goldberg: Goldberg wins and The Rock makes him look like a million bucks. Rock will do some backstage stuff and cut a pre-match promo just to make sure the fans boo him.

Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio - Mysterio after Big Show gets himself beaten by toying with him too long

O'Haire vs. Rikishi - O'Haire with the Seanton

Los Guerreros vs. Team Angle - Team Angle through dastardly cheating

RVD/Kane vs. Dudley Boys - RVD/Kane after the Dudleys argue

Trish vs Jazz - Trish, she's been taking too much of a beating lately from Jazz

HHH vs several other people - I just don't care

Brock vs. Cena - I'll go out on a limb and say Cena pulls out the biggest win of his life by cheating his ass off

Probably not though, but I can hope can't I

Goldberg vs. Rock - Goldberg after Johnny Aceing the Rock Bottom, spear, jackhammer, goodnight

I wonder what TNA will do to fill the void Kim's leaving; I don't think ODB or Taylor Wilde are right/ready for the "#1 Face" spot, and TNA has shown that they have no interest in pushing Roxxi (who might be too "unique" in any case)....
