So in my current career as a hard-hitting journalist, sometimes I get assignments which touch me somewhere special. This is one of them.

Pro wrestler Awesome Kong set to sign at Fall Festival and Classic Car Show (registercitizen.com)

Despite the headline, a bunch of the story is about the NEW show Oct. 1, headlined (I think so) by Awesome Kong/Mickie James. Kong initially said the match was off, due to her back injury, but that she was still planning on making an appearance. I got a call back later from the This & That Sports guy confirming otherwise, saying the match is still on. Come. Sit. Read.

I should go and check this card out, because it is a pretty nice card and it's only about 20 minutes away.

How does Bryan still get to work the card when he is a WWE title holder?

Because of the suddenness of his return, they gave him permission to work a lot of the indy dates he'd already agreed to if they didn't conflict with major WWE happenings. He's just about done.

I'm curious to know two things:

1: Does Danielson go by his WWE name or the American Dragon moniker?

2: At the indy shows that he's attended since winning the US title - does he bring it along?

On the Dragon Gate shows I went to this past weekend, he worked as Bryan Danielson and did not have the US belt.

Aaaaaaaaand she's off (bit.ly). Kong's back injury flared up, so she won't be wrestling. They're still trying to line up a replacement (as far as I've been told).

There haven't been enough guys like Ventura or Heenan, especially these days. I think if the rumor's true that Ernest Miller's ready to take the headset, that could change very fast. Miller makes a perfect antagonist on the headset.
