The NHL awards ceremony was tonight in Vancouver, and here are the winners for those who don't have/can't find OLN on their cable plan:


CALDER MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding rookie): Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals

FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY (outstanding defensive forward): Rod Brind'Amour, Carolina Hurricanes

HART MEMORIAL TROPHY (most valuable player to his team): Joe Thornton, San Jose Sharks.

JACK ADAMS AWARD (outstanding coach): Lindy Ruff, Buffalo Sabres (won by one point over Peter Laviolette, the closest vote ever for the award)

JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY (outstanding defenseman): Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings

LADY BYNG MEMORIAL TROPHY (sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct): Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit Red Wings

VEZINA TROPHY (outstanding goaltender): Miikka Kiprusoff, Calgary Flames

BILL MASTERSON MEMORIAL TROPHY (for perserverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey): Teemu Selanne, Anaheim Ducks

KING CLANCY MEMORIAL TROPHY (for leadership and community service contributions): Olof Kolzig, Washington Capitals

It kills me that they'd even consider a lockout considering the crippling damage losing an entire season did. I believe the league hasn't been even close to as popular as it was before the lockout.
