Now the word going around (according to 1wrestling) is that Austin went home after WM because he doesn't like the direction of the WWF and his character. So do you think this is B.S., NWO/Hogan backlash, or Austin just hurt that he has slipped down the card a bit? I hope he's back by the draft next week (he's not expected at Smackdown, I guess).
"...the people ran, they ran all right, they ran right to the toilet, pulled their pants down, took one big Hulk-a-CRAP every time you opened your mouth!"
That sounds like garbage to me, but you never know. I thought it was strange that Austin wasn't there, but he has taken days off before (especially when he was heel champ). What is his direction now? After defeating Hall, that feud is over. What's next for Austin?

If anyone was gonna have the balls to quit because of the product, it was gonna be Austin. Austin's still the most popular star in the business and he's been treated second fiddle to a guy who can't get any face heat off either him or Hogan.
It's almost like the Russo angle of 98/99 playing itself out for real. Vince wants his boy The Rock to be the big star, while Austin is who the fans want.

Come on - you should see how this plays into the split. Vince takes Rock - the big star of the moment - while Flair takes the disenchanted Austin and promises to make him a big star again.

Your talking about people having the guts to quit because the product sucks? Sting could have come back anytime to the wwf but he chose retirement instead of going to a company whose product he doesn't hold in high regard. Then you have Foley who quit because in his opinion the product sucks.
I am the JOBBER TO THE STARS. You better remember that.
As much as I like Austin, I hope that Vince just lets him sit home and rot. There is no reason to give into his tantrum. Austin will break eventually and come back. THe WWF can survive just fine without him for now.
It's hard to tell what's real or fake in wrestling today, but if Austin is bitchin about the direction the WWF is goin in. Then he should just retire, he only has about 2-3 years left anyway, just pack and take yo punk ass home.
He has been there long enough and seen enough people come and go, that he should know what the deal is. He don't have to like it, just deal with it.
At 1st, I thought Austin vs Hogan was the real dream match. But as I stated earlier, he only has a few years left. He can't carry that 'torch' into the future for years to come. That has to go to someone younger, like the Rock or Triple H. Austin lit his own torch to carry and eventually he'll have to pass it on too. May not like it, but it has to be done.
