This link here takes you to a house show report on the Observer for 12.05.2004 Smackdown house show at Madison Square Garden. Pay close attention to the first line of the report where it shows the attendance. Isn't there something a little... odd about that, considering it's an MSG show?

6,000 to 6,500 for a Sunday afternoon house show isn't an awful figure in the current marketplace. This isn't the old days of MSG where the McMahon's would bang the place out with 22,000 plus every month. If they were doing that, they would book MSG every month for a house show, rather than just once every six months.

Also consider that the WWE claims MSG as their home arena and a reliable sell-out, and that figure holds a bit more reason as to why the WWE needs to change its gameplan.

I was there Sunday and the floor was was packed, but beyond that, in the section I was in and above it was a sea of turquoise and blue empty seats.

Some people were sitting in our seats and we got even better ones by just moving a bit.

But its like RSN said, it is the current wrestling climate.

Yeah, if this is all they can do for a house show in MSG, then this is all that they can do for a house show. At least it wasn't like 1,000 or 2,000.

Those figures show up often enough in other citites.

Man the Diva's division feel apart around 2005-06. That was when the women who helped support the "Golden Age" of women's wrestling started leaving the company.
