You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

"Two men enter. One man leaves...with groceries." (SchippeWreck)

Just came out on SportsCenter about half an hour ago: Orenthal James Simpson guilty on all counts (sports.espn.go.com). He's now looking at five years to life in jail. Seeing as this got posted at 2 AM, the details are skimpy otherwise.

Yeah, what's up with that? Why are the case reaching a verict that late (11PM in Vegas) in the nighttime? I would think that in most cases, they would recess at 5 or 6 and come back the next morning.

That said, it's not too surprising. With all the evidence against him, it would had taken something even bigger and more miraclous than what the 'dream team' did the first time to spring him again. Fred Goldman and the Brown family must be celebrating like crazy tonight.

First, the jury may have been close to a verdict on all counts and asked to keep with it. Plus it's Vegas Baby!

And I doubt they are celebrating much as he still skated on their murders. Maybe they are at least a little happy.

They can't send OJ away for life. If they do, who will play the golf courses throughout the land attempting to find the real killers?

This kinda surprises me a bit, because from what I've heard, the witnesses against OJ weren't terribly credible. Everything I saw on TruTV (granted, it was a few months ago) had him getting off for this.

I expect an appeal. They'd better tread carefully when it comes to sentencing.

OJ was declared Not Guilty 13 years ago, and just because the decision was incorrect (according to the civil trial), you cannot use this case as a means of revenge, or you're looking at his lawyers eating them alive.

He'll appeal, on principle, but really doesn't have the good money to do it. All in all, it's probably best not to have a guy like OJ running around, these days, free

It's one thing to have a "getting away with murder"(*) God complex - but it's downright stupid to flaunt it. "How can I be guilty of taking back what is mine?". Good defense - but only if you hadn't of cut two people's throats *and* been an affront to decency since then. Even with money, you can only push you luck so far; without it, goodbye

(*) not that I think he did it, of course. He *was* found innocent. The Glove didn't fit

I am not trying to nitpick FLEA but he was found not guilty. He was not found innocent.

Roscoe plus involvement with something involving Dixie? Finally Roscoe P. Coletrain is moving out of the shadow of Boss Hogg and taking control for himself.
