Abbreviated results...

-Rey Mysterio d. MVP by Count-Out when MVP refuses to answer the 10 count. Lame ending #1.
-Big Daddy V & Mark Henry d. Kane & CM Punk. V pins Punk clean with a Samoan Drop. Blah.
-Shawn Michaels d. Mr. Kennedy. HBK wins clean with Sweet Chin Music.
-Jeff Hardy d. Triple H. Jeff wins clean when he counters the Pedigree with a roll-up.
-Finlay d. The Great Khali. Finlay gets the pin after hitting his finishing move: the shillelagh to the head.
-Chris Jericho d. Randy Orton by DQ. Jericho crosses paths with JBL and JBL runs in for the DQ. Lame ending #2.
-Beth Phoenix d. Mickie James. Beth wins clean with the Fisherwoman Buster.
-Edge d. Batista & The Undertaker to become YOUR new World Heavyweight Champion. Fake Edges were all over the place in the Halloween Havoc Hoax re-visted. The real Edge comes in towards the end and takes out both Batista and UT with a chair and steals the pin.

Wow, a month in and Chris Jericho's feuding with Bradshaw. Did he really come back for THIS?

Two DQ endings were way annoying, but this had the most good matches on a WWE PPV show since Backlash. Chris Jericho = still great, at it. If they'd done a real finish, that would've been superb.

Looks like a like of the people who predicted what was going to happen got it wrong.

** I was very surprised about Hardy beating HHH.
** I was sort of surprised about Finlay beating Khali.
** I was not surprised about Edge winning the belt. Neither Undertaker or Batista are really over right now.
** I was not surprised at Jericho winning by DQ. Rule number #1 about a face vs a heel for the world championship the first time, it's always going to be a win for the face but not get the belt. Then at the next PPV, it will be some sort of gimmick match.
** I am surprised about JBL apparently getting back into wrestling himself.
** Just as things couldn't get worse, they combine Big Daddy V with Mark Henry... ARRRRRRGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
** I'm really impressed by Beth Phoenix but unless the WWE signs another real women's wrestler, I don't see where this is going. Personally, I like to see her against some male jobbers.
** Smackdown really hurt when Hardy went down leaving them with a talented MVP with no role for him right now.
** I guess with HHH losing, his main rival is going to be Vince McMahon and no matter how good HHH is, this will never be another Stone Cold vs McMahon rivalry.

I am psyched that it looks like we'll get HHH challenging Orton, which, if you concede that Hunter in the main event has to happen, that will be much better than HHH defending against Batista, and at least there's a story there with Orton hanging onto the belt for five months after beating Triple H for it. Triple H winning the Rumble will probably be annoying but what're you gonna do. He could win the Elimination Chamber instead I guess, but if it's Undertaker/Edge, then Taker would have won the Rumble two years running.

That's a lot of speculating considering they could've just changed the winner tonight because it seemed too obvious and Hunter will re-challenge for the title shot on TV.

Beth is being unstoppable for the big Candice Michelle return a la Trish/Jazz and Trish/Victoria. The Mickie James BIZURIAL (insider term!) has been disheartening.

Jeff going over clean is a shocker, but thank God it happened. Let's hope he keeps the shot at the Rumble, it's a good time to have a unproven main eventer when the Rumble itself sells the PPV.

HHH and Orton at WM seems obvious now, but what do they do with Shawn and Jericho for Mania? Does Jericho now go to SD? I actually hope so, and don't mind a feud with JBL, the promos will be great, and Chris can carry him to a solid match.

Jericho/Edge at Wrestlemania would rock my world.

WWE.com (wwe.com) is reporting that Edge's decoys were the Major Brothers ... do we have the makings of a new stable?

It would indeed, but doesn't Edge/Taker seem like a lock, barring an injury?

Or at the very least, the makings of some personality for them. I like it...better than 2 random indie dudes brought in for the night.

jericho dq win over orton... yeah i called that, no way that jericho was getting the belt clean this early. btw, jericho feuding with bradshaw is a big fat NO THANKS in my book.. Who asked Bradshaw to return to the ring btw? Like he was that good when he left?

Jeff over hunter, I TOLD you. it makes the most sense. Jeff blows his title shot at the rumble, and hunter goes on to win the rumble and challenge at mania.

Edge wins the belt, i even called it via heel chicanary. BTW, Who are the major brothers? did they repackage the bashams?

everybody called micheals over kennedy, I don't claim anything special for that prediction.

and of course, the rest of the matches I didn't care about (although how MVP is gonna hold on to the belt till mania, I dunno.)

I thought this was better than most Armageddon PPVs of past years, to the extent I'm forced to retract my prediction about the PPV going to be really bad. Some thoughts:

Did anyone else think MVP looked just a little like AKI man in that rather cool red and white getup? Anyone?

I didn't see the Punk/Kane loss coming; it was a pretty good night for the heels.

I really enjoyed the triple threat until the triple Edges. It just seemed to put a little too much nonsense on what was a solid, entertaining match. I especially loved the bell-ringing.

Not quite sure why the Hardy win was such a SHOCK. I think JR's constant reminder that this was "Hardy's biggest match he'd ever had" over the last few weeks was the big giveaway. In the PPV interview, Jeff said he had never been this close to a world title match...hmm...Taker/Hardy Ladder match, anyone?

All in all, some great in-ring action let down by a little bit of shoddy booking in my opinion.

Whilst we're predicting what 'Mania will have to offer, when is Lashley back? I fear a rumble win by the big man leading to a Lashley/Orton Orlando showdown, injuries permitting...

I went into this PPV with the "Fully Loaded 2000" optimism that at least one out of the three people who needed a win (Hardy, Kennedy, Jericho) would get one. I wasn't disappointed.

I feel the need to point this out - technically, yea, Hardy won clean. But to me, and in the eyes of most fans, its as if he didn't go over clean. The type of "clean" victory that Hardy needed would've been where he managed to get HHH down, hit the Swanton Bomb, and gotten a pinfall. That would have given him better foundation as a main eventer with some staying power. The way he ended up winning, he just looks like a midcarder who got a fluke, lucky rollup victory.

I think it'd make sense for them to spread those 4 matches out over the next six months to avoid that Post-WrestleMania drop.
