Its been announced on WWE.com that Randy Orton will face Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Title at Armageddon. Who will win?
I think they might give the title to Orton as a way to move him towards Main Event status, a good run with the IC Title would certainly help acheive this. What does evryone else think?
This match was announced on RAW. plus i don't care for Randy, they should keep him on the lower card, so Randy shouldn't go over RVD, but he most likely will.

Soz RAW isn't on in the UK until tonight, only heard about it on WWE.com
I agree that RVD should win, but I do think the title will go to Orton, maybe then they could put RVD on Smackdown! rather than continue pushing him down the card.

So...because YOU don't care for Orton, he should be shunted to matches with Rosey every week? Tell us, why shouldn't Orton go over RVD? Maybe because RVD has that tremendous competitive drive, workrate and moveset?

As opposed to Orton's breathtaking in-ring work? I know a lot of people here don't like RVD, but he's light years better than Randy freakin' Orton, for crying out loud. Orton hasn't had a single impressive match that I've seen, and RVD, while he doesn't always go 100% and then some, has had some spectacular matches.
There's a major difference between Orton and RVD: Orton is very young, new the game and has tremendous potential to be one of the major ball-carriers (along with John Cena) in the future of the WWE. He has the looks, the lithe, powerful body and the charisma to be something someday. RVD, on the other hand, isn't getting any younger and appears to have already reached his in-ring apex. Since coming to the WWE, has he shown one ounce of drive or desire for improvement? Has his selling improved? Sure, he had a good ladder match with Eddie Guerrero, but I can't off-hand think of another RVD match that showed hiim to be a major player. Instead, he looks like he phones in his matches, telegraphs his moves and just doesn't care unless he is in the title hunt. Therefore, RVD, time and time again, proves himself to be the selfish baby while it looks like Orton will be the type of company man who will actually go places in the business. So to me, it's not about where Orton currently is, but where he will be in say, five years.

First of all, RVD is 31, which I believe was the same age that Austin was when he got his mega-push in 1996. Hell, Nathan Jones is 35, for cripes' sake, and Vince is still trying to make us care about him.
RVD did what exactly NONE of the "hosses" and "future company men" have done in the last few years: come into WWE and gotten instantly over. Hugely over, in fact; NFL players were even copying the 'points to self' thing after scoring touchdowns. He sure looked motivated back then, since maybe he thought that getting over with the fans actually meant that WWE would push him. So much for thinking logically.
I think that in five years, Orton is far more likely to be in Billy Gunn Land than being a major player in WWE.
Let's put this in the plainest terms possible: Darryl Strawberry has no business instructing anybody about anything. He has never done a thing in his life to warrant a position of guidance. Not on the field. Not off the field.-- David Vescey, si.com
Not to mention that Orton's much-ballyhooed "charisma" stems from a series of skits he had when he was injured (and they were good, yes but hardly great). He hasn't had one good promo since he came back and joined Evolution. Just acting cocky doesn't fly, especially when you are on the same roster as Chris Jericho. Nobody does cocky like Y2J. Add in Trips, Flair and Christian, and Orton's "persona" looks as bland as his ringwork.
