This was an outstanding game, unless you like defense.
I do not understand the Packers' stubborn refusal to put a defender in the middle of the field. I lost count of how many quick slants to Breaston, Patrick and Fitzgerald turned into big plays for Arizona.
Despite the loss, Aaron Rodgers is fantastic; this was one of the greatest individual performances I've ever seen. After the Packers' slow start, he just picked them up on his back and, along with some great catches by Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley, delivered a great comeback. But the Green Bay defense couldn't do anything.
Highest-scoring game in NFL postseason history, too.
AWESOME, awesome game after a couple of disappointing blowouts earlier this weekend.
Warner's a machine in the postseason. He performed amazingly and wouldn't you know that Fitzgerald's getting going again? Can we safely say that he's successfully broken the Madden Curse?
I expected this to be a trainwreck of a game for Rodgers, but he played great if you forget about the first and last plays of the game. But watching Rodgers kill his team in overtime is eerily reminiscent of the worst of Postseason Favre. Too bad, because he played a great game otherwise.
Fantastic game! Even better when you think that 'Zona/New Orleans next week has the potential to top it.
Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you... Green Bay fans will scream about the obvious face mask Adams got away with while causing the game-ending fumble, but like the announcers said, it was just karmic payback for the ceaseless abuse the Packers heaped on him over the course of both these games.
I'm satisfied with the result because every pundit was rushing to suck some Cheesehead d*** over the course of the past week while completely forgetting that the Cardinals entered these playoffs much like they entered the last one (which resulted in them almost being Super Bowl champs) and as a better team to boot. New Orleans is in trouble because I think both of these teams presented a poor matchup for them.
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
Oh, also, the officiating was TERRIBLE. Off the top of my head, there should have been offensive pass interference and hold called on the Cardinals on Fitzgerald's diving touchdown catch and Adams grabbed the facemask of Rodgers on the final play. The Cardinals clearly benefited most from the poor reffing.
The Cardinals also benefited the most from not turning the ball over as much and passing the ball much better. That was quite a performance against a top rated pass defense.
I now kind of appreciate the way the Pats just went ahead and played like crap the whole game instead of coming back and giving me hope. Sorry, Pack fans.
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

I'm probably completely wrong on this, but watching the replay of the game-losing fumble it seemed to me like Rodgers was trying some kinda last ditch effort at maintaining possession by flailing his leg at the ball. Intentional or not, that led to the ball popping up in the air and right into Dansby's arms. If the ball hit the ground the Cards might not even recover the fumble let alone return it immediately for a TD.
Either way, he didn't do a very good job in overtime. It seemed pretty obvious that despite Rackers' absurd miss and the Packers winning the coin toss, all the momentum was with the Cards.

I believe he was attempting a quick kick. I kinda wondered if that was some "illegal touching" but it never even hit the ground and it's probably the sort of penalty you could decline anyway.
ANYWAY. Not running a play with :09 to go reversed the karma that caused the Shank of the Evening. (On the other hand, if they HAD run a play, maybe ARod would have attempted the quick kick even earlier.)

On Mike & Mike this morning, Golic seemed to suggest that if Rodgers had not kicked the ball and Dansby not caught it on the fly, they would've went to the replay booth to see if it might have been an incomplete pass or some variation on the infamous "tuck rule". Not sure if I agree, but an interesting "what if".
On a less important note, I enjoyed watching Steve Breaston's Razor Ramon touchdown celebration. That came outta nowhere (unless Scott Hall is still doing this and did it on TNA recently)!

There was also an obvious helmet-to-helmet hit on Rogers on the play where GB was called for holding in OT. So, yeah, not such a good game for the refs.

One man's high priced is another man's over-paid. Ah the off-season, time of crazy optimism. Says me, fully expecting 19 games of "Healthy Pro Bowl Donovan". This decision baffled me no end.
