Argo should come with a seal: Ben's Best. (backofthehead.com) SPOILERS.

Really a terrific movie by Ben Affleck. I think it's the best of the three he's directed so far. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

Could not agree more. The entire mood of the film is awesome, and the last ten minutes had me on the edge of my seat.
If you go see this, wait through the credits where they show the real people in this story, and a nice voice over by former President Carter.

Great film, as expected. Had been anticipating it since I saw it in previews a few months ago. One of my favorite casts in a long time, too.

I loved Argo and as a public service so you don't have to imdb it, the red-haired ladyhostage who you know you know from SOMETHING but can't figure out what was the lead doctoress on Zombie Scrubs: The New Class.

I was incredibly disappointed. I loved the Hollywood scenes with Goodman and Arkin, but something about the foreign setting just didn't do it for me. Nowhere near the worst that I have ever seen, but I wouldn't give it more than a 7/10.

On the other hand, Bryan "I am the one who knocks" Cranston was suitably awesome in his tiny role. The way he chewed through all of his lines with such vicious ferocity was pretty fucking awesome.

I believe in Ben Affleck.

I was totally sold after The Town but I think his filmmaking skills are pretty much indisputable now with Argo's release.

Here's my spoiler free love-letter review of Argo (londonfilmfanatiq.com).

I was expecting more focus on the Hollywood section of the film. The trailers focused a lot on the comedy aspects involving Goodman and Arkin. Sure the "Argo fuck yourself" line was a gem, but I wanted more of that. Needless to say, I liked it a lot more before Affleck got on that plane, and that was only the halfway point of the movie.

The Town is one of my favorite movies of all time, so my expectations were ridiculously high. It just didn't meet them...

Alright, that reasoning makes sense.

The best of Affleck's three movies --- better even than the very strong Gone Baby Gone and way better than the disappointing Town.

As the board's token Canadian, I should point out that it wasn't just a case of the CIA 'letting' Canada take the credit for getting the hostages out, Canada was heavily involved on a far greater scale than just hiding them out in the embassy. Victor Garber's character (ambassador Ken Taylor) was arguably the biggest 'hero' of the real-life story.

Well, when Vancouver or Toronto, or wherever your guy's Hollywood is, makes the movie, your man can be the hero!

If Canada ever made a movie called 'Argo,' it would be about the life and times of Pinball Clemons. And it would still somehow star Paul Gross....he's versatile!

Could Smallville's new creative team be old TNA fans? That's the only reason I can think of for naming this week's episode "Abyss" and then topping it off with a preview for next week that showed DOOMSDAY!
