Is this the year the Bucs finally make it to the Superbowl? Will the Bucs Offense finally give Warren Sapp and the Bucs Defense a rest?
Judging from the first two preseason games I would have to say YES. Well don't know about Superbowl but the Bucs should make the playoffs and at least make it to the NFC champ.
I'm trying REALLY REALLY REALLY hard not to get my hopes up this year. Every year since their first playoff run in 1997 they've been preseason favorites according to some (or many). They've had the big blockbuster moves-Keyshawn comes in, Brad Johnson (though I think he sucks), Now this year Jon Gruden is the supposed savior-but haven't been able to live up to hype. Part of it may have been Dungy's conservative demeanor, but I think a bigger part of it has been a lack of big playmakers on offense. Keyshawn can't carry an offense of Jaquez Green, Reidel Anthony, Dave Moore and Warrick Dunn with Dungy's playcalling. Now, though, with McCardell, Dilger, Pittman and Jerivicious(Probably misspelled) to go with the ruthless agression of Gruden, I think they are the team to beat this year. The defense is essentially the same-though the difference is now the rest of the league is catching up to them-with the same big stars.
And if they get blown out in the first round of the playoffs by Philadelphia, I think I'll cry. Hell, I almost did last year when it happened.

Just a note. Don't judge anything from preseason games. It just can't be done. I watched the Bears take on the Titans last year in a pre-season contest. They looked absolutely horrible. Both lines got whipped up and down the field, and I'm talking first teams. But in the season, the Bears made the playoffs, the Titans didn't do anything. Obviously the effort is just inconsistent in pre-season games, and you have guys who know they are making the team, and know they are starting, not exactly playing their 'A' game.
The Bears 1st team looked good against St. Louis last night. I wished it meant something, but I know better.
Preseason=Bengals and Browns a combined 4-0 and tied for first.
Thus proving it means nothing.
I mean, yeah, the Bengals are gonna be in the playoffs and everything, but the Browns!? Come on!

The Bucs have a better shot at winning what should be the weakest division in the NFC than going to the Super Bowl. That is not to say that they won't be contenders though. Next year will be the Bucs year.

I'll second that...Favre, Green and company are looking solid. If the wideouts can get it together, it's San Diego time. Go Pack Go!

I'll say this one time, and I really don't think there's any arguing this (though I'm sure some will try). The Bucs have the most talented roster in the league excpet for MAYBE the Rams. The problem is, you could have made similar statements each of the last two years, but all that talent didn't pull together and win games because they were to busy believing their own hype. So don't sit here and point out to me that the Packers or anyone else have a solid roster, because they can't match the Bucs's depth. It's a question of can Gruden keep the team focused.

I think maybe you're overstepping yourself a little here. Don't get me wrong, the Bucs have a very good team, but are they the second deepest team in the league? I'm not sure that's even close to accurate. Anyway.
Sad as it makes me, I think the Bucs beat the Pack in the conference semis.
