So yesterday the arbitrator made his decision and sided with the NHL. So Kovalchuk is a free agent again.

Also the arbitrator is apparently investigating other front-end loaded contracts like Luongo, Pronger, Hossa and Savard.

Not surprised that Kovalchuk's contract got thrown out since he would be 44 at the end of the contract an conveniently the contract drops significantly after he turns 39.

What does surprise me is they are looking at other contracts that were signed last year.

I like Theo a lot. This trade is the best things possible for him. He had so much personal crap going on over the last few years in Montreal there's just too much to put aside and focus on hockey anymore.
