So yesterday the arbitrator made his decision and sided with the NHL. So Kovalchuk is a free agent again.

Also the arbitrator is apparently investigating other front-end loaded contracts like Luongo, Pronger, Hossa and Savard.

Not surprised that Kovalchuk's contract got thrown out since he would be 44 at the end of the contract an conveniently the contract drops significantly after he turns 39.

What does surprise me is they are looking at other contracts that were signed last year.

I'd love to see the NHLPA and the NHL go on TV and admit that they both were wrong, and are working TOGETHER to make a better NHL, one that is affordable for the everyday fan, and one that allows equal funding to all teams, regardless of how small market...
