It's the only site I've ever played on. I can find other free sites easy, I just don't know which of them are worth my time.| Promote this thread! | | Gugs

In other sports I've got no problem with that, but it was just....so odd. Haven't cared to try again. Is that normal or did I just catch some freak? | Zeruel

If it was Yahoo, it was normal. Half the people I play against (more in backgammon) trash talk while they win, and accuse you of cheating if they're losing.

Yeah, this is exactly why I want to stop using Yahoo.

This site looks pretty good, though I've only signed up and looked around, not yet played. I'm on there with the same username I have here if you want to play :)

Nice clean interface, lots of features if you become a paid member but still a good site for free users. Feel free to send me a game invite. User name: spiffie

Years back I would play on Yahoo and I like to think I was slightly above average (Sanders). I used to use the nickname "Spoiler". Every once in a while I'd knock off a guy rated much higher than me.
Chess story: my radio station was having a "Day in the Park" years ago that featured a chance to sit down against the local Chess Club. The first game I tried out my usual opening, and as I thought, this guy hammered me.
The second game I went head-to-head, move-to-move and chased down and captured his queen. The gentleman said "Okay" and stood up for a second, then set back down. It was then I knew I was dead. He proceeded to take every piece I had.
He asked for another game, I politely declined.
