| #1 Posted on 16.10.02 2148.45 | I'm throwing this out to the throbbing brain that is Wienerville.
I have high speed cable access, only right now it's in 5 minute intervals while it decides to work. My connection keeps cycling in and out.
My local "techs" are next to useless, and won't be here until the weekend.
It uses a Motorola SurfBoard for the modem, and an NIC card for the connection to the computer (not USB).
Any ideas?

| #4 Posted on 21.10.02 0846.04 | Hi,
It's pretty much resolved, even though the cable folks have not been out yet...I traced all the wires to the attic, and it turns out my jack has some "issues". I loosened the cable and it's fine now...except that I'm now leaking signal.
So when the tech gets here, I'll point him at that cable jack...wait for him to investigate everything else, and then tell me "that jack needs to be replaced". If I can resist murdering the cable guy, I should be in business then.
