I am looking for someone who is a decent artist to collaborate on a comic- PM me if you feel that is more appropriate. I have tried this several times before, and every time, the artist I started working with (I write, btw) always flaked at some point and went off and did drugs or something, so please, while I want to hear from anyone who can draw, don't agree to work with me if you are going to bail halfway through!
I have a couple of stores locally that seem pretty willing to sell anything I should put out (if it ever happens), so I am hoping to recover at least what I put into it, plus some profit to split in the end.
Ah, and Z and Guru, if you feel this is an "inappropriate" thread, plese feel free to banish it. I was kind of iffy on it myself, but hey, I had to try!

I can't draw worth a shit, but am also a budding comic book writer, and I was wondering if u don't mind sharing Pool-Boy, what is it about?

RIP Curt Hennig: Yeah, they call me a redneck, but you know---that's a beautiful thing!

You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon.
Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it.
But where in the world is there in the world
A man so extroardinaire?

C'est moi, c'est moi, I'm forced to admit!

Depends on the artist actually-
Personally, my philosphy behind the whole thing is that the artist has a lot of input on the story. My job is to write something that fits in with their "style," coming up with character information, etc, on favorite people they like to draw, and so on.
Plus some are really good and ejoy super-heroy stuff, some are better at more realism, some are best in color and others in B&W, hell, some artist just rock at futuristic garbage.
My biggest disappointment so far was a guy who really excelled at fantasy art. He had tons of characters that he drew for fun, and he was the one who was looking for a writer to put them together into a story for a book. I worked for months with this guy, nailing out a "universe" for these people, writing the story, etc, and then he just VANISHED. Up and moved without a word. Pissed me off, because I did all of this work for nothing. Annoying.
Basically, my point is I take the tact of "show me what you have," and I tailer the story to fit. If it happens to fit into one of the things I have already started working on, then so be it :).
