I connected a laptop to the XBox via a normal network cable, and I was not able to get any kind of response through Networking. Any thoughts?

I don't think it'll connect to anything but XBox live without it (and with the chip, no more XBox live). You'll need an ethernet crossover cable, a regular one... oh, I've said too much already...

| #3 Posted on 31.12.02 0249.21 | Mod chip.. damn... am I out of touch... I imagine that will run me like $100 and require major surgery on my X-Box... Not something I am willing to toy with at this point... Oh well. I am still having fun with recording my CDs on there. I have about 15 hours of music on my XBox right now, with plenty of room to spare. My XBox is in danger if being relagated to a music machine. I don't know- it is kind of fun. I like the randomizer it offers for my playlist, so I have been organizing the tracts based on genre. Since my system is hooked up to my surround sound, it makes for an excellent music source. I pick what I am in the mood for, randomize the playlist, and go about my buisness. This will be kick ass at parties...
